Hi,

I'm so sorry if these questions have been asked before, but if anyone could help me that would be great. I am the beneficiary and my partner is the petitioner.

1. I have a previous DUI conviction which was back in 2006. Has anyone applied with this before and has it been a big obstacle?

2. On the application it asks that you provide addresses that you have lived and jobs that you have had. Within the last 5 years I spent two years traveling through Australia. I was never at a job or an address for longer than 5 months at a time. Do I have to list everything or do I just advise that I was out of my home country for that period of time?

Thanks!! :)

1. Besides your regular UK police certificate, order a Subject Access Report from the same place (ACRO).

2. Maybe you can put the full length of the time in Australia if it was a continuous trip and write (various) for the address. If it was over 12 months in Australia, you will need a police certificate from there. That one (Australia) requires finger prints you have taken in the UK and send with the police certificate application. The London embassy website provides a list of stations that can do your prints. Order early. It takes awhile to get.
