Oops. Sent the I-129F to the wrong place

Hi everyone. So those who keep up with this forum know I'm alaways messing something up. Well, around 2 weeks ago, I sent my I-129F out. So I thought I'd check on the forums to see if how I was fairing compared to others. Then I saw it. "Send I-129F to Chicago office." I sent mine to the Vermont office, where I sent my I-130. Does anyone know what'll happen? Thanks to everyone again. (Be ready for my next mistake)

you need to put information in you member field under your user name.

the very same form is used for several types of "K" visas.

if it is a K-3 then the instructions say Chicago (for now).

oh yeah this was for a K-3. But I accidently sent the I-129F to vermont. Does anyone know what will happen?

Sometimes they send it back to you, sometimes they forward it to the appropriate center. If you just sent it off, generally the fastest option is to cancel the check and send of the petition again - BUT as it's been 2 weeks, I would personally wait and see. Has your check been cashed?

Our lawyer (cough choke) sent our K3 to Nebraska, same place as the I130. I hadn't found VJ yet and the petition sat there for 3 months before I caught the mistake. We had a LIN number and not a MSC. Nebraska did cash the check and it just sat there. He charged me AGAIN to refile to the correct place. Good luck in your process.

I sent my K-3 to Chicago. I have now found out that Chicago is nothing but a "lock box"????

From Chicago they sent it to Missouri (which is like the "bank" for USCIS) where they cashed the check.

From Missouri they send it somewhere else for actual processing.

So, with that in mind, it may be a very long and slow process indeed.

Meanwhile, there is no way for me to track or get any information on the petition.

I would consider re-mailing it if I had sent it to the wrong address.

If they have not cashed the check, and it would simple for you to re-assemble the package, I would cancel the check and send off a new application. But I wouldn't cancel the check until I had new signed G325A's from my spouse and anything else I needed to send and was ready to send the package.

Thanks everyone that has been giving replies. I got 2 more questions. Does the fact that I messed up filing this I-129F affect the speed of my I-130? Also what would happen if I just sent another I-129F and waited for to see which ever would get there first?

It wont slow down your I-130. I-130 and K3 have diff. purpose. Just send another 129-F or if you want, just go on with your I-130 without K3. My K3 was denied for some reason (they said they sent a mail which i dont recv asking for addtnl proof). and my I-130 was almost done.
