When that song first came out, I was about 18. The song was constantly on the radio so the lyrics were fresh in my head. I was in my parents kitchen singing the lyrics and when I blurted out the part that says "Maybe you're just like my mother, she's never satisfied". I got me a slap upside the head by my Mom.

that's funny you mention that. i was five when that song came out and my parents weren't prince fans at all. so it must have been much later when i was jamming out to prince with my mom present and she asked (regarding that same line) "and what is that supposed to mean"
