Question about Getting an RFE

So unfortunately I just found out today 3/26 that I got an RFE for my I-129F :( Of course I'm super upset about this as I know that it adds another 3-4 weeks to the process now (& because I was soooo meticulous & it looks like hardly anyone gets an RFE from CSC). However, to compound this, I also just found out that petitions are being transferred from other service centers to CSC effective tomorrow 3/27 (http://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/workload-transfer-within-service-center-operations). When I mail my RFE back to CSC, will I go back to the bottom of the stack behind all of these transferred petitions? :'(

No, you won't go back to the bottom of the pile. Wait for the letter, follow the instructions carefully and submit what you need to as quickly as you can. Your RFE came in a matter of weeks. It could have been worse. Texas filers with RFE's got theirs recently after 7-8 months. Hopefully it's something minor and easy to fix. All the best for the rest of your journey :)

I know, we are very lucky to be able to go thru CSC, and I felt like a brat for asking this question when all of the TSC people have had to wait for months and months already. I'm just so worried I made some horrible mistake at a critical point and cost us so much time or that they are super suspicious of us :( I hope it was just a small stupid mistake on my part...

There is nothing wrong with asking, just as there is nothing wrong with feeling disappointed about it if you were meticulous. It may be a minor mistake. it may not even be your mistake at all. It's not unheard of for the service centers to lose a small item (like a photograph or one of the required pieces of paper) and send an RFE for it. It really sucks, but it happens. It usually doesn't take too long for the RFE letter to arrive and as soon as you have it, get what you need and send it back.

Did you keep a copy of the pack you submitted? If so, go to the guides section of the forum and check what you submitted against what is on the list to make sure there is nothing left out. Check your forms to make sure you didn't forget to check a small box. If you spot something, you can start getting it prepared now while you wait for the letter.

I'm one of those "hardly anyone gets an RFE from CSC" that DID get one. And it was for two things. A stupid typing error (fiancee's birthday not matching on two different pages) and they wanted a complete divorce decree, not just the final judgement page. So, it does happen. I mailed back the required info within 3 days, got my NOA2 less than 2 weeks later. So, it's good because someone is actually working on your paperwork and things could be done shortly.
