Hello All.

Wish I had found this forum sooner.

I will try to be concise....but difficult as I am confused.

July 7 was the date USCIS received AOS, EAD application. Received the NOA.

Moved to different address in same city end of Oct. Notified USCIS of address change. Called and AR-11 etc etc...

They said it would take "at least" 45 days for address change to go through.

In the meantime they kept sending mail to old address and we got emails telling us that notices and such were sent back as undeliverable

45 days pass and they still send mail to old address....changed address again as other one didn't get posted. Mis-infoline tells us that EAD will probably take longer to get to us......it was already approved one week past 90 days.

They were still sending mail to the old address. Talked to new resident at old address and they will keep mail for us if they get it.

Im probably confusing everyone.

We just received AOS interview appointment date of 3/8/07.

We called and asked what is going on with EAD? Mis-info line tells us that we now have to reapply and submit another fee for EAD!!! They said sorry.

I made appointment through infopass and hopefully they can give us an "interim EAD" The appointment is for tommorrow morning at 9AM.

Any comments.......do you think they can give us an EAD? My wife was approved months ago, but because we moved and mess ups with change of address etc etc....she never got it in the mail.

Thanks for any opinions or ideas.

If you have an AOS appointment in less than a month, why would you want to reapply for EAD? If you get approved at your AOS appointment, you won't need the EAD any longer. Just a thought.

Do they actually stamp her visa with approved? The reason is because now I dont believe anything the "mis-info" line tells us.

Also if she gets put into the name check limbo I've read about on here. My wife has had job offers just from friends and others but cant take advantage of it. We cant get her drivers license....she is becoming very upset about not having anything to do (very understandable).

They don't necessarily stamp passports with approvals anymore. It seems to vary from office to office.

You should find out the answer to all your questions tomorrow. Do come back and tell us what you find out.

I can tell you I know of one VJ member who had several RFE's during AOS and EAD, and was never issued the EAD because of it. She was told the same thing you were told - refile. So it does happen.
