The USCIS system is not down. It is working.

This message, "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information." appears apparently if your case has been touched or updated and someone is working on it.

seriously?

Oh ok, so meaning to say from March 17 until now no one touch our application? :D

Sorry, I do not have an answer to your question. All that I know now is that the system is working because my friend can check her status as being approved. She doesnt get the same message we get. By the way, when I log in ( i signed up to USCIS), i can see my case being updated on April 7 2015 but am getting that message if i use the "check my status" window.

My case was last updated on the USCIS website on 3/24/15. I have had the same blank screen for one month now. No updates, nothing. I seriously doubt the absence of information means the application is really in process. My petition is in Texas and unless I have hopped over months of over applicants, the lack of information on the website means a technical glitch and no one is doing much to correct it.

same as our case, last seen our case status was March 16, then after that we don't see anything on our log in case page. but i have read something about the case status# encoding. if the last 5 digits begin with 0 status will not show online. mine has last 5 digits start in 0. WAC-xx-xxx-0xxxx

USCIS must have changed the logic on its case numbering as the middle three digits of my petition are 902. Therefore unless we're in the 902nd day of the government's fiscal year, the logic doesn't hold.

Ok, so i just called that number now and I got to talk to someone who sounded pretty nice and pleasant actually. So I am right in saying that the website is working. She said that the message we are getting appears when someone is working on our paper. I told her also that when i sign in, i see that my file was updated on April 7. She said, that means that on April 7, someone worked on my paper and until one touches my papers again, then that is the time i will see a new date.....a new update... or an RFE or an APPROVAL. Some cases gets approved with one "touch" and others need to be looked at further. I agree.

Hello this happened to me for a week! When I called the USCIS number, I also got no response as to the progress of my case, states to say my case couldnt be found or that maybe I got the wrong receipt number, etc. Anyways, it did come back after a week and showed that I was going to get an RFE. Don't worry though. It happens frequently with the site based on old posts here on VJ. Good luck on your visa journey! :)

wat rfe that uscis asked from you?
