Any go through the WHOLE k-1 visa process without a job?

I am unemployed. I have been for 2 years. I worked at a video store for 2 years prior to my unemployment. I unfortunately started getting such bad stress I quit my job (well jobs) because I had 2 at the time. My mom said she would take care of me and get me destressed and I didn't have to work. Well I didn't know 2 years would go by without me having a job. I tried to get a job for like 6 months but noone wants to hire someone who didn't finish school. But my mom could support that wasn't a problem.

I met Thomas when I was 15 almost 8 years ago. We have talked almost everyday for 8 years. And within the past 2 years fell in love, met eachother, got engaged. (still I have no job) We were going to do DCF but since that law changed everything we can't. I had my plane ticket and everything to Denmark.

So we found out we couldn't do DCF in Denmark we decided to go to the next plan. Which was a k-1 visa. So my worry comes down to what a lot of people seem to worry about the I134. I can't get a refund on the ticket nor do I want to so I am going to Denmark march 28th. which stops me from trying to get a job sooner and that's fine.

So back to my worry on the I134. I obviously need a co-sponsor (I KNOW THIS) and I have one it's my brother and he makes 34k a year as a construction site manager. He has no bank account for some reason but he can get everything he needs other than that. I know there is a commitment he is making and he knows that. He knows the left the rights the ups downs and sideways. My fiance is ALSO aware that I have no job and isn't concerned because he will be working with my brother and when he gets here I will be starting school.

So there is my story from then till now. And here are my questions.

1.) Has anyone gone through the k-1 visa unemployed or extremely small income and can offer me advice? ( I already have a joint sponsor who makes 34k)

Any advice would be wonderful from anyone who has gone through the no employment thing with the k-1. This is the most helpful forum there is! Thanks so so much for even looking.

okspider,

All you need is a co-sponser to satisify the Financial support part of this process and you have that. As long as you can show to the consulate that the beneficiary will not become a "Public charge", you are OK. So start putting together some recent photos together and proof that you have met in person in the past 24 months and get that K-1 subimtted!

Neither of us are employed, both students, and upon a successful petition, will move back to the states when I graduate (after July 07). Obviously we do not have an income and have a 2 willing co-sponsors in the US (her parents) who are willing to suply us with as much info as needed. As one parent is self imployed we are getting tax returns/reciepts and W2's for the last 3 years etc.

As long as you have a co-sponsor you will be fine. As long as he can supply W2's and tax returns for the past 3 years I believe....

Thanks so much! It seems like a lot of people have really busy schedules when they start this process and it's just hard to do both at once which is why I am waiting to start school. Lol I just get stressed so easy. Good luck to you as well!

I am glad I am not alone in my situation ( I knew I wans't) but it's nice to hear it from someone else. Thanks for the help!
