Do USCIS or A-number vary throughout AOS process?

Hi community!

So I've finally received my new EAD on the mail after 90+ days waiting, my EAD was issued in light of a readjustment of status application which is pending stemming from marriage to a US citizen, my previous legal status was OPT student, on a F-1 visa.

Now, I have a question in regard to this new card and this might be a little paranoid of me but I will still ask it.

So, as I was going through my card in order to verify all my information and I see everything seems to be in order, I started also comparing my current new EAD with the expired OPT one just to single out the differences, I notice first that the category number naturally varies for they were issued in light of different immigration status, but also that the USCIS NUMBER had changed as well, now I though this was what is known as the 'Alien Registration Number' and I use it extensively throughout my forms for the readjustment of status application. I got this number the first time though my first EAD for my OPT application, so the QUESTION is: Is it normal for this number to change like this ? Has the USCIS assign me a new USCIS # or Alien Registration number? If so, will my Permanent residence card have the same 'new' number? Or is it not normal and my EAD has an issue?

This is normal. Normally your alien number will never change, but EADs granted to OPT F-1s do seem to have a different alien number when they file for AoS. I have seen multiple posts here from people saying the same thing.

Day 341 (12/10/18) Interview was scheduled for 1/14/19

Day 376 (1/14/19) Interview

Day 385 (1/23/19) Denied

Day 400 (2/7/19) Denial revoked; N-400 approved; oath ceremony set for 2/14/19

Day 407 (2/14/19) Oath ceremony in Dallas, TX

So for all intents and purposes including calling the USCIS to check the status of my applications and so forth should I use the current A-number or the one I used to file my AOS package?

Your new A-number on your EAD. That will be your permanent alien number from this point forward, and will be the one listed on your green card and (if you apply) your naturalisation certificate.

Excuseme when did you file the whole process? December/January?

February 28, 2015: AOS Packet Sent via FedEX to Chicago Lockbox: I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131.

DAY 19 - March 21, 2015: NOA for Biometrics Appointment scheduled on 04/01/2015

DAY 77 - May 19, 2015: EAD and AP has been approved "We ordered your new card"

DAY 84 - May 26, 2015: We mailed your EAD to the address you gave us/USPS picked up the Card

DAY 85 - May 27, 2015: Interview Scheduled for June 29, 2015.

** May 29: Traveled with my AP back to my country and came back three weeks after with no problems Click here to ready the report **

DAY 117 - June 29, 2015: Had our interview. Approved on the spot.

DAY 124 - July 6, 2015: Welcome noticed received.

DAY 134 - July 16, 2015: Green Card delivered to my home by USPS - END OF AOS -

DAY 1 - April 7, 2017: Sent I-751 to CSC
