I do not think that you need to visit again. I do not know why the lawyer will tell you that .June 2013 is not that long ago, save the money from the lawyers fees follow the advice on this site and you will be able to do this process

another thing is I think the USCIS is still expediting petition from the Philippines so you could have a fast approval

The next steps will be the NVC if you need help along the way just message me as my wife is from the Philippines and we just got case complete at NVC we are waiting for interview letter

they have seen each other TWICE. during the first visit they were married. June 2013 is TWO years ago, practically. Without a doubt him visiting her prior to submitting their application strengthens their petition.

It will help yes but not everyone can go every year to visit i know some countries they might question that but the philippines is not that strict as long as thry got good proof of thier relationship

Hey Tess&Steve

My husband paid a lawyer and the firm did nothing but take his money and then ignore our calls or emails. If you have a simple case I would advise against it, but in the end it is your decision. Maybe you luck out and find a great lawyer.

For many people the hardest part could be many different things. For me is the waiting. For others, it might be the expenses and fees.

About the need for your husband to visit you, if you are able to prove a bona fide marriage (ongoing relationship, joint finances, property, etc.), I believe you should not have a problem. But that would be nice if he could.. I would not discourage that!

Best

Hi everyone, i really need some help me and my husband doing petition I-130 we collect some documents, then today my husband talk to attorney they are to expensive plus they advise my husband to revisit again here. My question it is really needed to revisit my husband ? We are 3 years married he visit me twice. What the best thing to do hire the attorney or do it yourself ? Hmmm... the process takes a while - by the time it gets looked at maybe some time will have passed. Is it really ok for you not to have seen your husband for over two years?

That's not OK for the K1 visa, and your question is I know about the IR-1 CR1 so maybe you will be ok - anyone else here more knowledgeable who has had the same situation and not just theories?

a k-1 is totally different. They are married and there is no requirement when they last saw each other.

If your case is complicated, and possible ""red flags"" then I would get the attorney.

If your case is rather common, then there is enough information here on this web site, to file your own paper work, and people here will help you, just use the guides, and follow each step, and double check everything you do, and keep two copies of everything you file.
