Wow, that sounds great!! I think I'll have to start looking around for something for my trip in 2 weeks.

Oh this iPod has been a money pit for me. I got a deal on the iPod itself, $200, but it's the accessories that are killing me. First I got one of those jelly skins to protect it. I hated the thing. It felt all gooie and was already collecting lint and fuzz. I went out and got a nice leather one instead. Much better! Then I had to buy a wall charger. Then I got a storage case for the iPod and the earbuds. Then I got a small travel set of speakers so we can listen to it in the hotel. Now I just got the battery back-up. I spent an easy $75 to finally get it where I like it. But it is a very cool little thing. 7 full movies, 75 music videos, 15 Three stooges and a whole season of South Park in addition to over 3000 songs will fit in there and I still have room!

That's how Apple (or any company, really...) guts you, Gary. The purchase of the initial component is relatively inexpensive, but the accessories (and in some cases, the media) are the real financial killers.

Well Apple didn't get me on this one. Not a single accessory is made by Apple. Way to many after market things available to spend money on the name.

Last time coming home and going through customs, the agents had a field day with me. They had to check (for porn they said) not only my computer, but various memory cards, CDR's, video tapes, etc. etc. It took me 45 minutes to pass customs. And of course missed my bus, so had to wait 2 hours for the next one.

too bad they didn't make the batteries removable.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
