A lawyer in California is pushing a ballot measure to legalize killing gay people

Read the first two lines of your original post...

  1. A California lawyer proposed a ballot initiative to legalize the execution of gay and lesbian people in the state.
  2. The measure isn't expected to end up on the ballot, since it's clearly unconstitutional, but it's drawing attention to California's bizarre ballot initiative process.

There are 10 countries where performing gay acts can lead to a death sentence depending on the circumstances and the judge you get:

Iran

Iraq

Yemen

Qatar

Nigeria

Saudi Arabia

Somalia

Sudan

The United Arab Emirates

Mauritania

Aim your indignation there.

But I want to aim my indignation at someone here in the U.S. for proposing such a barbaric act. Why can I not do so?

Actually what you said first was :

That's aimed at an entire country

Second you said:

That seems to be aimed at an entire state.

I don't think you ever said anything about the lawyer specifically. If you are that upset that a single person was unable to get his crazy views even put up for a vote in a US state then let him have it.. My response was to you first condemning an entire country for something that did not actually happen (he only attempted it) and then at a state for something that did not happen.

Since I live in none of these countries, I'll continue to show interest in the policy making taking place in the USA, if it's all the same with you.

Since I live in none of these countries, I'll continue to show interest in the policy making taking place in the USA, if it's all the same with you.

And which policy is that in this post? I called it out because the original post made the comparison making it fair game.

I didn't compare it. I just said we call other countries barbaric, look at what people in our country are proposing.

We got nutjobs like that here in Texas too. Unfortunately we are a country where nutjobs can make proposals like this.

They are proposing murdering innocent people. They should go to jail!

How about these upstanding citizens wanting to kill immigrant children. They weren't arrested either. They should all be if they are proposing to kill anyone. I don't care the color.
