I also asked about it at the medical and was told that it was not completed by them at Knightsbridge. I will be ticked off if we all get an RFE during AOS because of a silly box that wasn't checked, especially when we pushed them for it.

Well, it's too late now. It's all gone to the embassy weeks ago.

I guess we have to just expect to receive an RFE and then have to fight it out with them on the basis that the actual form is complete, all the other relevant boxes being checked.

I'm so glad I saw this topic before sorting out my medical etc..

I do have a few questions though.... I'm due to see my GP this week and plan on asking about my shots. But I'm not sure what to say!

Is it a good idea to bring a list of the shots I need?

Also, with regards to medical history, I understand that if it is not computerised, I would need to give my doctor a letter stating I require them (to then find out what shots I've already had). Is this correct?

If you are over 18, you are likely to only need two shots - MMR/ MMR Booster and TDap (unless you've already had them). We're out of the flu season at present, so that won't be required until around October.

Details in this pinned thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

When I went to my doctors, my computerised history only went so far back. To get my complete vaccination history, I had to write a letter to my doctor requesting permission for the Practice Secretary to go through my paper records and compile a list of all the shots I have had. They then sent me a letter stating this, and I was then able to make an appointment to have the updated shots.

You need to explain to your doctor why you need to get your vaccination history, and also why you need the extra vaccines. If your doctor isn't familiar with USA immigration, explain that it is for immigration purposes, NOT for travel (I had to explain this to the Travel Nurse for when I got my shots, she initially told me that I wouldn't need them for 'travel' to the USA). You need to meet USA immigration requirements, which is different to the UK's requirements.

Daniel just walked into his GP's office and asked for a copy of his immunization records. The front desk person looked him up, went away for a couple minutes and came back with a nice printout. They didn't ask any questions.

He had a tdap and mmr later. He just called up and told the nurse what he needed. He said they didn't ask why he needed them but he told them to move to America anyway. They gave him the shots for free.

Hi guys, just had my medicals on Friday and after reading this topic, I realise that I should have had my MMR done prior? sine it will take few days for them to send it to the embassy, can I call them and ask them to hold it up until I get the vaccines and ask for an updated letter to reflect this? I really don't want to go through to much trouble for the AOS as I have seen so many people complain about it... Thanks for your help

Wish I read this before especially when the nurse told me I just have to get it from my GP SMH

Interesting. I wonder if they are no longer giving the MMR to adults there now. Best thing to do is to call Knightsbridge in the morning and ask to speak to the vaccination nurse and see if they are willing to do this for you. I seem to recall reading accounts of a couple of others earlier in the year where they couldn't (or wouldn't?) amend it after the medical, but don't quote me on that unless I can find the threads to link you to the posts.

As far as I knew what's done is done, unless it is an actual mistake on their part (like you having the shot and them not marking it down as such). In this case it sounds like you needed it, but didn't receive it. Nich Nick might have the answer.

It's concerning that Knightsbridge doesn't seem to have an idea regarding persons actually needing the shot later on for AOS, so they don't seem to bother to remind a patient of this option. And yes, I know they technically don't need it for a K1, but in just dealing with the medical field for so long... it feels like not being 100% truthful to a patient, or at least not as helpful as you could be.

They can hold the results until you get the shot and you or doctor office faxes the proof to them. Will they be customer service oriented enough to do that for you? I don't know. You can ask, insist, beg...whatever you want to try.

When my husband went through Knightsbridge, there was a very knowledgeable person working there and it was her idea for him to do that. She said, it you want to get this shot on your record, then we can hold the form until your GP faxes us the info. She provided the fax number to him. She mailed the revised DS-3025 to my husband.

Once the results documentation is submitted to the embassy by Knightsbridge, it is final.

Wow..thank you everyone for the replies, i have tried to call them al morning but then send an email for them not to send my medically until I get the MMR done by gp and faxed to them... Hopefully someone will agreed to amend my transcripts as I explained that it will cost. Me $300 to have this done again in the U.S. and they won't accept a transcript from normal GP....

NOT HAD ANY RESPONSE YET will let you know how it went

Many thanks

No. Did your GP do blood tests to show immunity? Ask Knightsbridge if they will accept these if your doctor sends them over. I had titer tests done to show my immunity and it was accepted by Knightsbridge, however I did take them to my medical appointment and hand them over there, so you will need to ask.

Your GP also may not be willing to give you an additional dose of the MMR, given what they have advised.

Hi again,

Yes they took the blood to show immunization, I will send this to knighbridge tomorrow morning and see what they say...

I kind of wanted to get a dose anyways just to avoid any further issues.... Wonder if I can get it done from somewhere else?

You can get it anywhere like Boots, Tesco, ASDA, Sainsburys...places with a walk In clinic. But did you actually speak to Knightsbridge and get them to hold your results from going to the embassy?
