What is wrong with NVC and Consulate in Montreal? Its already a month since my Case complete but until now they couldn't give an interview date.???????

Not to worry...they haven't forgotten you. They do this from time to time....that is, take long delays with scheduling. Hang in there....they will schedule you. Best to be prepared and have everything ready just in case you have only 2 weeks notice. That happened way back in April. Good luck!

Mrs tbh, Thank you. Does Copy of documents proving petitioner's U.S domicile needed for interview? I'm husband never live in other country. If needed, what kind of proof that is acceptable?

that question is iffy....sometimes they want proof sometimes not. bet to read consulate reviews a few months back just to e sure you have it all prepared.

if i recall correctly, recently there hasn't been much proof requested but then again it wasn't my scenario so i didn't pay much attention to it.

best be reading the reviews. twochickies put on a good review and if my memory serves me right they were a situation where they needed proof of domicile

and just to be sure why not put 'proof of domicile' into the search field and see what pops up.

Mr's SSN came in the mail less than 2 weeks after POE. So hopefully they are still on track with those and you won't have to go to your local office.

And the green card came a month after we paid the ELIS fee. We didn't do that in Canada, we kind of forgot about it and paid it once we got here. But if you've already paid it then your card should come soon!

Oh and by the way - Cali recently changed how they do things with drivers' licenses (literally in June). They will give you a chit of paper instead of the temporary license that says "learner's permit" on it, but I was told by the DMV folks to ignore it as they haven't gotten around to changing things yet. I guess granting temporary licenses was too much trouble. So they want you to drive on your Canadian license with the proof of having applied for a driving test (that piece of paper) until you do your driving test. Then they will issue you a temporary California license until you get your card.

Thank you!! It's so hot lol The temperature difference is like greater than Toronto. It's 65F then 95F. We are still trying to get everything set up in the apartment. Furniture and stuff!! But very glad to be home at last.

And thank you for letting me know. We haven't gotten around to DMV yet. We will do so later this week. How long does it take to do the road test? Did you get yours done yet?

Quick question. Do I need to scan and include a copy of the bar code sheet that we got from NVC in my AOS and IV emails?

Yes. The scan code should be included in each of the package. Are your emailing? I just save the barcode as pdf and included it in the email. Remember to put your case number near top right corner on each other documents!
