Got an email from VIA rail this morning..... starting June 19th kids travel for only $15! Woot!! That just saved me about $400!! LOL!!

For those considering taking the train, sign up with Via for their newsletters.... every Tuesday they send out their "Discount Tuesdays" where you can book a ticket for a deeply reduced price!! But it only gives you to the end of the day for travel within the next week or two, so it is rather last minute - but worth it!!

Great deal!!! VIA ride was awesome. I love trains. Would be a treat for kids I think. And so peaceful.

So I am in Montreal. I am assuming Cdngirl123 is on her way soon with her hubby. I am exhausted as the train was at 6:40 a.m. so had to wake up early. The Marriott Courtyard is great, very nice rooms, very nice staff. My only thing mrs thb is that my room is on the East side of the building and there is some pretty big construction right next door. There is some crazy machine making noise - I doubt it will do that at night, but just in case that kind of thing bothers you, stay away from rooms on this side!! Other than that it's lovely.

I already saw the Consulate "secret door" on my way here from the train station. Its' great - a 10 minute leisurely walk to the hotel from the train station. The consulate is about a 5 minute if that walk from the Marriott.

Unfortunately, I seem to be getting a cold, and I can't freaking smell or taste anything so there goes my idea of having a nice supper in Montreal!!!! Damn it. I also already cried to my hubby on the phone, lol. I might just take a nap, although the drilling out there might make that a bit difficult, sigh. Anyhow, onwards and forwards team!!

Cool!! they come pretty fast.

Glad you made it safely, Mag. We are currently on the long stretch of the 401 making our way (hubby is driving :) GPS says we should be there by 7:15pm so I'm hoping for smooth traffic the rest of the way.

It's still feeling surreal for me too. Is it starting to sink in now that your there?? Hope you're having a good day!!

~~One post removed, edited and returned to below as requested by the poster~~

Mag, Mr. Chickie here, my review is forthcoming! It ended up being a lot longer than I originally intended and I didn't finish it before we had to travel this morning. I'll be continuing it in a moment, but Mrs. mentioned your east side situation and I felt I had to encourage you to call the front desk! It may not result in anything, but I suggest calling the front desk and politely complaining about the noise. Ask if there's another room on a different side of the building available for you to switch to! If there is, it likely matters very little to them where you're staying. You're paying good money for the accommodation and they mentioned nothing of noisy construction. They want you to enjoy your stay! If you feel like you're getting a cold and can't take a nap because of it, you've got to at least try. You gotta rest up and be as healthy as possible for your interview - and I know if I hadn't of had my naps this past week, I would've had a miserable time in Montreal. And so would my wife, dealing with my grumpy butt!

Anyways, I hope that works out for you! Good luck, girl! You'll do great!

Whew… I was hoping YOU weren't driving;) It's weird… not really sinking in till tomorrow I think. But day has been great overall. I am just worrying over this when to line up thing. Don't know what to do. Don't know what to do. I am SO SO SO tempted to just go at 9:30, but then again, if I go at 6:30 I might get lucky. Hotel is 3 minutes away, so if I turned away it wouldn't be so bad, but if I didn't the it's bonus!!
