We leave for Montreal in 3 days. Bright and early Tuesday morning. Medical Wednesday. Interview the following Wednesday.

I'm kind of freeeeeeeaking out!!! I'm so excited because I really, really, really hope we get approved but I am also so scared because of all the domicile issues. Ugh. Why is it even an issue? I don't get it.

You'll be okay. Just take all the domicile evidence you can. The interview is VERY simple, you'll be okay!

I've been in Canada almost a year (almost EXACTLY a year the day of the interview; been here since May 22, 2014, interview is May 20, 2015; crazy). And while I never, ever intended to live here, haven't worked here, don't consider Canada my home legally, I still have to prove that the US is actually where I live. Montreal prefers the petitioner actually be living in the US and since I've been here almost a year that is obviously longer than the standard max 6 months, so I have to prove I am actually going home when my husband gets his approval. Hope that makes any kind of sense!

and you will be fine...from what i've read, if they want more proof they will ask for it and i'm sure you will have that additional proof....and once you hand it over (well under, haha) you'll get your approval.... and if they don't give it on the spot, they'll send you away asking you to submit it once you return home, and if this is the case, you will get it soon!!! .....but stop worrying they are gonna give it to you!!! i was a wreck my first time, but much more relaxed this time as i know what its about. i know its hard to calm your nerves, but afterwards you're going to laugh and say omg, i worried myself silly. you'll be fine twochickies

the problem is they asked for my current employment proof, since I am a personal trainer and from out of my house and make cash, what do I send in....I am so over this process, it is going to be 2 years in July, starting with the i130, than I601A and now this (( well I am glad you guys are finally getting your appoitments

Hi everyone I have been looking over everyone timeline so you may see me visiting your page once or twice lol

I am trying to gather a timeline for my interview I got the email conformation today, the thing is the house I rented just got sold so now I am packing everything to go to a storage ..... I still have to pack everything again in a uhaul to drive all the way to Charlotte .... I am so stress with this dam process

So please guys can you help me with a timeline to know from the time u get your cc to when you get your interview date

I've run the numbers from Dwheel's spreadsheet, and specifically Canadians, we're averaging 50-51 days from CC to interview date.... some sooner, some later.....

Hey guys, has anyone had issues with names on here? This hasn't come up because my paperwork went through the USCIS and NVC without any issues, so I am hoping it won't create any issues at the consulate either. My birth name is really long, so when I was a kid my Mom shortened it and the citizenship card has both the long and the short version on it. I've used the short version on all my other documents - my driver's license, credit cards, etc. THE ONLY thing that has the long version is my original birth certificate and my divorce certificate, because they required my birth certificate for that. All my immigration paperwork matches my short name in the passport.

Again this has not been an issue thus far, so I am wondering what the likelihood is it will be now? I am just asking in case anyone has seen or read anything else like this on VJ. I've scoured and haven't found anything! Thx!!!

mag, I seriously doubt it will be an issue as you have several docs to prove who you are.

its kind of like your sin, it stays in you birth name yet you assume other names. you may not longer go by that name but have plenty of proof at one point it was you. just bring all the proof you can. another point, since i have a ssn already, i called about that too and i was told by ss it will stay in my birth name, no need to change it. many people change their name and not just because they married (I have a friend who hated her name and just because she changed both, first and last), you will be fine.

on that same note...i've had a nexus card since 2010 and used it kajillion times....not once has anyone noted my name is spelled seriously incorrectly....infact i just noticed it about 3 weeks ago. i called nexus thinking it was a huge deal and the lady i spoke with said....'looks like the error is from our end, all your docs say 'xxxx', looks like a big typeo to me, so just stop by with all your docs and we will get you a new one'.

Thanks Mrs. Thb - you are seriously awesome!! I am having a bit of a freak out here. Like seriously in tears that I've ruined it all and should have had all my documents redone in my long name to match my birth certificate.

I am just scared.

on another note...i'm seriously peeved at dr m office....purolator came today....left a tag...i now get to drive across town to pick up the package.....like #######? what's the point of spending 50$ if i still have to go retrieve the stupid thing....and i have to wait for the package to return back to the depot to get it, which is ANOTHER day. thank goodness i have tonnes of time prior to my interview!!!! note to self mag....bring chocolates and coffee with you to your medical, get it on good with the reception people and call daily to ensure you have your package asap!!!!

but, i guess i should be happy that i didn't have to drive all the way toronto to get it.....grrrr

man i'm have a terrible, no good, horrible, awful MONDAY!!!
