They gave me back the originals and kept the copies.

Wait. Is that right. #######. Let me check my folder. Now I'm second guessing that. Things were so wooshy and fast!

they look at the originals, keep the copies and return the originals.

I heard or read somewhere that they will charge you a $1.00 per copy if you do not have photocopies available. and, they frown upon this, so best you attend with copies pre-made.

Made it home safe. Had to work today, which, ugh. I'm so done! I mean, I've got a great job, but ugh, I want it to be over. Tickets were booked in advance of interview. Moving date is June 3rd (hoping no delays in my visa arriving!!!). Cat is booked onto the airline, cat's vet appointment is booked to clear him to fly. We got the SIM card for my new phone number ordered tonight--it should arrive by Monday, no later. New tags for the pets will be bought as soon as we know my new number.

Now to repack my bags because, uh, yeah. lawl, gotta double check everything and make a list for customs!

I can't wait either. My last day at work is the 27th. I'm going from work to the airport to pick up the wife and then she'll stay and tour Toronto with me for a week and then we'll go back together. HOPEFULLY my grandmother will be well enough to come to Toronto that week and we'll all go to the Mandarin together.

I'm taking a few suitcases. Which will be filled with red river cereal since my wife is hooked on the stuff. I took it for Christmas for a treat and now she wants me to bring a boatload when I go home.

too funny....i L O V E large flake quaker oatmeal which you cannot find/purchase stateside (how stupid I have yet to contact QO about it)...now hubby is hooked on it!

The Mandarin is expensive, but it gives the best selection of foods that my grandmother can actually look at and determine whether or not she can eat. She's got kidney problems and has to be careful about what she does and doesn't eat. I mean, any restaurant is going to be much higher sodium than she should have, but she can mitigate that by choosing other things that are 'safer'. At least that's what she says.

yah, but the night isn't about you and wife, its about granny having a night out. i only hope i get invited out for such festivities when i'm her age!!! good for you NAT for caring and as for granny, God bless her and her kidneys and sodium levels, she's one smart and healthy lady.....and by the sounds of it she has one loving and caring grand-daughter!!!!

NAT - grandmas are funny. You'd think the oldest person in the crowd wouldn't understand, and they have often lived LONG enough that they DO recognize that love is love. And people are people. And having your family or friends in your life is MUCH more important in the end than ANY belief. I am so glad you have such great support in her, it seems like it doesn't matter what family thinks of your choices, but it kinda does. At least it mattered to me when I was going through stuff my family didn't approve of. ANd trust me, I have STORIES
