A copy of the birth certificate or passport works as his US status, and yeah we are taking a copy of my BC too in case they ask.

The 2014 tax stuff is most likely going to be asked for, and I went ahead and updated the I-864 to reflect that. Still taking the old one and 2013-2011 taxes, but new I-864 and 2014 as well.

Sooooooo many papers!!

Ok. So if I take a copy of his passport and birth certificate I should be ok? I really don't want to ask him to send me his original.

You mean you filled out a new I-864 for 2014? Do we HAVE to do that you think? They ask for the photocopy of the most recent tax return and the original I-864 so I think I will just bring the original that we filled out for 2013, and the 2013, 2014 taxes. Hopefully that will be ok.

Yeah copies should be totally fine, especially since he is in the US, it'd be crazy to mail you his passport or something. Who knows if they'll even ask!

I've seen both answers, and decided to do a new I-864 just to be safe.

Mmm ok. Well, I will go with the original I-864 just because that's what their instructions say. I can say that if they wonder at the consulate - they didn't ask for a NEW I-864:)

And what would be his proof of domicile since he lives and works there?

I wanted to tell you guys this in case any of you have Dr. M in Toronto for your medical. So I emailed them while wondering what to do, whether to travel to Medisys or stay in T.O. The lady called me just NOW!! She says they've been inundated with emails and calls, people calling with interviews in like 2 days time, since they released the interview dates so late this month (so NAT even your timeline seems ok compared to some people's). That's why she called me on the weekend - they are in the office doing the reports.

She was VERY VERY nice, and told met that they will do their utmost to accommodate people with short turnaround times. She said the most important thing is to have all the vaccination stuff up to date and clear documentation of it. She also said that the x-rays can be rushed/marked urgent if need be. The short week of the 18th is a #######, but she said they should have it all for me within the 4 day frame indicated.

Sooo CanadianGirl - are you not having your medical with Dr. M? Because it sounds like they are working very hard to make sure people do get their medicals on time.

That is really reassuring to hear I bet!! Unfortunately no, I'm not going there. I am going to Dr. Zatzman in Vaughan. My appointment is in the morning on the 13th so it gives them a week before I'll need to pick them up before I leave for Montreal the following Thursday. But Monday is a holiday so I don't know. I'm just hoping they can make it happen!

I'm not doing a new one either, just bringing 2014 tax stuff. So if they question it at all we'll both be there to kick up a storm about it!! haha

Yeah, that makes me feel better. I think I will stay in Toronto then, rather than going to Montreal to Medisys.

Well, the docs' offices seem very aware of this interview last minute mess, so I think if they made the appointment for you KNOWING when your interview is, they think they can make it happen. Otherwise they would have a LOT of unhappy people on their heads;)

Ok! Good. I wish I hadn't dyed my hair brown - my hair is usually blonde with pink, so you would easily pick me out. Now it's just brown;) But I needed to look more grown up
