Case Was Approved

On February 1, 2016, we approved your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number SRCxxxxx

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

We FINALLY got an approved NOA 2 just short of one year after I sent it in mid Feb 2015. Thanks so, so much to all of you for your support through this insanity- (my rantings, threats to set myself on fire, etc.) Now we can AT LEAST make some kind of plan for the next few months, (where to live, how to get medicines, etc.) and hope the visa is approved at the interview.

I'm quite sure the inquiry from Sen. Gillibrand's office was the catalyst- and I'm also pretty sure USCIS was not really doing security checks......I think that was the one reason they could give for such a delay that could not really be argued with.

Thanks again to everyone on here. If anyone is still waiting for the NOA 2 my belief (at this point) is to contact your Senator's office and keep in touch with them. Nothing else seemed to do any good at all.

I suggest you follow Tom's post (#612)- it was very helpful to me and I received my case number in just a few days (after calling each day lol), and then it was sent right to the embassy.

I cannot tell you how happy and relieved I am to finally hear this news--trust me, it is music to my ears, and it's brightened a day that up until now, was full of moping around and feeling lazy--but more importantly, it means your wait for approval is over, and now your journey can keep going. I am so happy for you, and so glad to see this news.

09/06/2013: Along Came a Relationship

04/16/2014: When Darren Met Harel (in person for the first time)

08/14/2014: The Proposal (but in Mexico, not Alaska)

02/27/2015: Flight of the Application

03/03/2015: Reception (Christopher NOA1an's latest masterpiece)

09/25/2015: 205 Days Later (NOA2)

05/11/20116: Engagement ended for familial reasons

Thanks everyone for all the messages both public and private.

I do have a print out with me with Tom's notes. We had planned to call VSC around 2/16 but maybe we can get our number even earlier based on what hampguy and others have said. That said, we are in the mountains of Mexico at the moment just enjoying each other so maybe a few days more doesn't make a big difference given our wait already.

You guys have all been such a great support and honestly I don't know if we would have made it this far without this support and the information!!! I also signed up for another site and felt absolutely alone there and gave up.

I hope no one from March is still waiting in the hell hole called Texas.

Was your case transferred to VSC? I could not tell from your timeline. I was hoping it was NVC. I do have some "tips" that i used when calling NVC several times a day... these folks are very kind and don't bullshit you like USCIS.

Jess, please get back to me.

Hey to Everyone

we finally have scheduled our interview for April 1 and the medical for the previous day. I want to thank everyone for their help and support so far-this has really, really sucked.

I cannot imagine how anyone could make it through this process without a website like this because there really isn't much information coming from the US govt.

An FYI we expected to wait 2 months for an interview in CDJ and only have to wait 3 weeks. So don't count on having a long time between when you pay/schedule and the interview to get your papers in order. If there is a better place I can post that information let me know.

So we will be heading to CDJ in about 2 weeks.

I hope no one is still waiting here. Will post a review of CDJ when we are done.

Good luck to everyone in this process.

That is fantastic news! I am so happy for you both!

And I will pass this along to my fiance, so perhaps the swiftness of your interview date will compel him to treat it with some urgency? Oh, cultural differences... xD

Good luck to everyone in this process.

That's good to hear that the interview process is going fast for you guys! I know we had to wait six weeks, and a friend of mine had their interview right after and they waited eight weeks. This was in Kabul, so I figured that was normal, but the interviews after that were scheduled really, really fast! Some in a matter of weeks! So I'm glad yours got in fast and I hope to see another post of your visa approval soon! (F)

Hello Everyone. Congratulation to everyone who received NOA2, has interview date scheduled and got visa approved! I had my interview March first and visa was granted. Everything went pretty easy. Today my passport was ready for pick up! Exactly one year after the case was filed.

For those who are still waiting: be patience. And thank you all for your support. We learn from each other. I'll keep you all posted.

After more than a year since filing I finally had my interview today in London. It could not have been easier and to be honest I've had more difficult experiences at Post Offices! It is actually incredible how simple and stress free it was compared to the long bureaucratic wait!

What an incredibly long process it has been. So much has changed in that time too. All good stuff but reflecting back on the past year I can't quite believe it. We're taking a break within the UK over easter so I'll probably fly out in around three weeks time :-)
