Our NOA1 is March 20. I'm trying to stay away from forums to make time pass easier, but lately it's been starting to get to me.

There is definitely comfort in seeing others starting to get approved. Such a happy feeling!

Congratulations, Bon25! :D

USCIS Update: Case Status Inquiries with the Service Centers

WASHINGTON - U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued instructions on making inquiries with the agency's four Service Centers. Customers, community-based organizations and liaison groups should follow this guidance when inquiring about case related issues. This new process standardizes customer service and streamlines processing of customer inquiries at USCIS Service Centers. The step-by-step instructions are as follows:

Step 1: Contact the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283. The NCSC can assist customers, community-based organizations and liaison groups with case related inquiries. Before calling the NCSC please have available your receipt number, alien registration number, type of application filed and date filed. During your call we recommend that you take note of the following information:

-The name and/or id number of the NCSC representative

-The date and time of the call

-Any service request referral number, if a service referral on a pending case is taken

Step 2: If more than 15 days have passed since you contacted the NCSC and the issue has not been resolved or explained you can email the proper USCIS Service Center to check the status of your case.

-California Service Center: csc-ncsc-followup@dhs.gov

-Vermont Service Center: vsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov

-Nebraska Service Center: ncscfollowup.nsc@dhs.gov

-Texas Service Center: tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov

Please note: Emails should be sent to the Service Center that has jurisdiction over your case. The receipt notice will indicate EAC for the Vermont Service Center, SRC for the Texas Service Center, LIN for the Nebraska Service Center, and WAC for the California Service Center.

When contacting the Service Centers by email you will need to provide the information outlined in Step 1. If the NCSC did not issue a service request after your call, please indicate the reason the NCSC representative did not issue the request.

Step 3: In the event you do not receive a response within 21 days of contacting the appropriate Service Center, you may email the USCIS Headquarters Office of Service Center Operations by email at: SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov. You will receive a response from this email address within ten days.

I know many have reached out to their representative/senator and have not had any results. Anyone with experience filling out Form DHS-7001 Case Assistance from the Ombudsman? Was it a poor experience? I ask because this wait is terrible. I found a Facebook site and someone said they filed a request through the Ombudsman and they felt frustrated with the wait and were told they needed to wait a specific period of time, then they got their NOA2 before they got a response from the Ombuds.

Sorry, here is a more updated link on the first post:

http://www.dhs.gov/cis-ombudsman-update-getting-most-out-your-call-uscis-national-customer-service-center

This one is September 25, 2015. I think it differentiates the tier one and two reps and the other one didn't.

The new USCIS "processing" times are out. I don't know what to make of this. So as of August 31st, which was a month and a half ago, TSC was working it's oldest case dated February 20th? That means their oldest case was nearly six and a half month old at that time.......I smell something stinky... Are people able to use that as evidence that March cases are past the processing time? Such as if this chart is showing cases being worked within six and a half months and March cases are now going on seven months, does that count as "past normal processing times"?

The ombudsman is a joke, seriously. I sent them what they asked for. EVEN before they LOOK at your paperwork it is an automatic 45 day period. The last time i called them they said it still had not been "looked" at to see if they could intercept and help. It is a joke as they are unders dhs but are suppose to be a citizen assistance for their own agency!!

I contacted both of my senator offices 3 weeks ago and got different answers from them. One told me that 6 months is too long to wait and all I needed was to mail or drop off the consent release and a copy of my NOA1. I came by the office the next day and dropped it off. They told me that I would receive a call within a week. I didn’t get any calls from them. So I called them, they informed me that both the people in that department were on vacation. Finally got a call back after 10 days and also got an email stating that they did and inquiry on my behalf. They mention that TSC have 2 weeks to reply. The other office told me that I had to wait after 7 months before they could do an inquiry on my behalf. Today I went to that senator office and meet with one of the staff member. He said, he will do an inquiry on Monday and to give him a call on Wednesday. It’s a box of chocolate dealing with the government.

Never came across that. My senator's office started inquiries long before six months passed. They are giving you a story.

Our NAO1 was March 17th,still waiting to hear that one big word APPROVED.... can someone please help me understand about the new proceesing time update we see on USCIS website stating as of AUG 31st processing timeframe is FEB 20th. I mean do we need to read that as of AUG 31st they were looking at FEB 20th cases? if so then its almost 45 days from AUG 31st so are they not suppossed to be working on cases of MARCH by now?I simply dont get this..This is really frustrating...on the flip side atleast hearing good news that few March filers are getting there approval...CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO HAD THERE APPROVAL ?????
