I'll jump in on this thread! My NOA1 is March 5th. I have been keeping up with the forums and Igor's list, but haven't posted much. I have browsed the other March thread, but find it somewhat depressing that most are approved and even have visas in hand already. Even more depressing because if we only waited a couple of more weeks to file, we would have been routed to CSC and approved already. Nothing we can do now, but at least we can commiserate here together :P

Some April filers already have visas and flights to the US.

I'm glad to see you have your NOA2-

Hopefully, once you're here and my fiance is here, we could all get together! That would be exciting. And even if it doesn't come to pass, I hope your journey is swift. NC really is a beautiful state, for all the things I wish were different (like I love having four seasons, just not all in the same week lol).

Id like that too! Definitely keep in touch!

Still no packet from the embassy :( I'm watching my mailbox all the time but nothing so far... Japan has its silver week now so everyone is off until Thursday, including the USEM.

Oh well, it is what it is, I do intend to call them Thursday morning, hopefully they will tell me if they mailed the packet and if not, how long its going to take.

USCIS finally got around to approving some files, but sadly, not many.

The past 4 days combined, only had 23 approvals.... less than 6 per day?

Really?!?!?!

Unbelievable.

Sorry.

It may be time to call congress, and USCIS, and DOS, and congress, and USCIS, and DOS, and .....

I know this isn't "my" thread and I hate to be a bearer of negative information, but to all still waiting: please call soon. Remember, we may be facing a possible government shut down in a week.

I don't think the government will actually shut down, and if it does, it will probably only be for a few days (unlike the two weeks in 2013) but I didn't see anyone mention it here yet.

Signature coming soon...

Yes, I have been stressing about this and hoping that we get approved before the end of the Governments Fiscal Year. I work for the Government and live near DC. I honestly think that we could very well shut down for awhile. Due to all the big issues that both sides are taking strong opposite sides. Historically they have not wanted to compromise to the determent of US citizens. The only thing positive that could stop it, is that it is close to an election year, and who ever the media makes the shutdown's fault usually has a bad election year. Let pray we can all get approved asap!!!

I'm waiting too. It's been about 190 days or so. It breaks my heart my fiancée is not here with me. I miss her so much. Our date is March 3. I sent a letter to a senator with no reply of course. Does anyone out there know anyone who works in the TSC?? Maybe they can give us info on what they're doing there!

Yes you're fortunate so enjoy! I'm from NY also-in the middle of the state. Maybe you know already that the town of Auburn is very Irish and has an Irish cemetary. It must be from very early immigrants because the County of Ireland where they were from is shown on the graves. I found it very interesting.

Thanks for sending positive thoughts our way!

I have been very fortunate to take the issue offline with a few on this forum, and anyone with whom I have spoken will tell you that I continuously support constant contact with the government, especially at this time. While it is easy for me to speak as one of the few that was approved, I still am on this thread everyday. My POV has never changed. YOU HAVE TO START CALLING THE GOVERNMENT. You have access to your senator, USCIS, USCIS ombudsman's office, the White house and the media. Don't be afraid of being sent to the end of the line for defending yourself and others that are emotionally dying just a little bit each day. If you have called, call again and again and again. That's what I did. I had the email address of the constituent liaison for the senator's office in my state, and this man heard from me constantly. Please do not fear calling these officials. My senator's office, while I do not know how helpful, nonetheless, provided me a vehicle of communication to continue to beat on my drum. I wasn't afraid to tell my senator's office that claims made by the USCIS (in emails to my senator) were completely false, and I had no shame in quoting more than sufficient statistics to support what the USCIS's TSC wasn't doing. My calls to Tier 2 officers at the USCIS, showed my willingness to submit my case number to an officer and not fear retaliation. I spoke with multiple tier 2 officers in a day, asking basically the same question and always ending my call by asking them what they would do if they were in my position. Call today and call everyday and always ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer. Never stop with the first line CSR as they know nothing and tell you nothing. Politely ask to be transferred to a tier 2 officer.

Start emailing your senator and calling. Senate inquiries on your behalf take up to ten business days, so you have to know that you not only wait for the senator's office to read your email, but also to open a case file. That is why I find calling more valuable. Call, then email and then call every single day. Ask to speak to the constituent liaison (not an assistant). All that can be done is to let your voice be heard, but do so through dialogue directly with the government. This forum is an ideal place to share smiles and tears, but you have to continue to fight for your loved one. Just fight with a polite voice.

Well Spoken. Spot on. 'Nuff said.

If you want it, DEMAND IT. Or be prepared to wait. Here are some numbers; Not to chew on, but possibly to Choke On.

There are approximately 2,400+ petitions from Jan - Mar still waiting. I know that it may be a shocking number to some of you. Perhaps you imagined being one of the 'forgotten few'.

Well, in reality, you are among a Forgotten Multitude. The past WEEK, TSC has only approved a paltry 23 files. Twenty-Three of TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED + Petitions. That's less than 6 per day, my Friends. At that rate, it will take 83 years to finish. REALLY!

I sincerely Encourage You, SPEAK UP CONTINUALLY as RMS171 has rightly encouraged you to do. With so many of you remaining, and the workers available limited, it is only Human Nature that they would choose to Service the LOUDEST FIRSTEST... if only to make the noise a bit less.

I have heard the replies, "I called (....), or I emailed (....), and nothing happened! Who else can I complain to?"

Answer: YEP! Be a Pain in EVERYBODY's BUTT, every chance you get.

HOWEVER, just as RMS171 properly cautioned, Always A Polite Pain in the Butt.

Be Consistent. Be Persistent. Be Firm. and Be Polite. At the end of your call, remind them that you will be calling again the Next Day.

That one lingering comment will swirl around in their mind like a stray SBD on a city bus. Even though the source of the SBD politely says 'Excuse me', the stench can still make people move. So, Yes, I am suggesting that you be a polite stinker. 8^D

Dinner Menu for Tonight:

Steamed Cabbage, Pinto Beans with Onions, Broccoli, sardines, and soft boiled eggs.

Let that percolate overnight, and then tomorrow, call your Senator or Congressman and ask them (politely) to pull your finger.

That was my poor attempt to help you find a smile, however crass it may have come across. But I can say with sincerity, I am a person

who normally will only remain quiet, and wait for my turn to 'just happen', or if I do speak up, to do so only once and then again remain quiet.

But, through RMS171's encouragement, and with my Beloved Fiancee's Well Being hanging in the balance, I decided to set aside my normally

quiet and timid self. I began to call and call and call, and BINGO. Approval. That may not work for all, but I am convinced that I too would still be

waiting among you if I had kept quiet, or only called once.

I just emailed both of my senators. Hope it helps.

GREAT! It's a first step. Have you ever seen the Kentucky Derby? When the Gates Fly Open, not a single horse comes out walking.

So, while a first step is good, and certainly necessary, as RMS171 Stated

"Start emailing your senator and calling. Senate inquiries on your behalf take up to ten business days, so you have to know that you not only wait for the senator's office to read your email, but also to open a case file. That is why I find calling more valuable. Call, then email and then call every single day. Ask to speak to the constituent liaison (not an assistant)."

You have begun the Race to Approval with your two first steps., er emails. Now, pick up the phone and make that Horse RUN!!!

I'm from Texas. Wanna borrow my spurs?
