Uscis Came back online.

Perhaps I'm being pessimistic, but I feel "back online" doesn't imply "back to work.":jest:

In any case, it's been a while since we've checked in on each other to make sure we're all doing ok.

Personally, I've had better days, still trying to overcome a deep depression and anxiety that this whole process (coupled with other life events) started making me feel over the summer...things are looking up, but it's a slow recovery. I've also begun my graduate studies, and while it's exciting, it would be more exciting if Harel were here with me. He's doing good, too. His job in Mexico is keeping him so busy we hardly have time to talk these days, but he'll be able to move to a new apartment in a couple weeks that's closer to his job and, best of all, free of the overbearing landlord he has to deal with now (which, I saw when I visited last, is quite an uncomfortable situation he's in). It seems we're all set to have our petition move forward, just still waiting for anything to change... I'm of the philosophy life will always be challenging (I'm a realist at heart), but it'll be nice when we can face all these challenges together.

So how have all of you been? If you're still waiting, what's making the time go by? And if you were approved, what's the journey looking like now?

09/06/2013: Along Came a Relationship

04/16/2014: When Darren Met Harel (in person for the first time)

08/14/2014: The Proposal (but in Mexico, not Alaska)

02/27/2015: Flight of the Application

03/03/2015: Reception (Christopher NOA1an's latest masterpiece)

09/25/2015: 205 Days Later (NOA2)

05/11/20116: Engagement ended for familial reasons

Jane and I were approved on August 31. They sent off our packet to the NVC. After this point not sure of timetable for approval there, interview, etc. I am happy to get the NOA2. I surely hope all of you guys get your NOA2's soon. I hope all of our loved ones can be here by Christmas. Good luck to all of you fellow VJ March filers.

We were approved on the 2nd, but as far as I know, our File still sits at TSC. Then the server went down last night, (after a 2-day 'ziltch' report from IF), and all Case Status's went blank. When the server came back up, our petition showed to have been Shipped to Department of State on the 11th. That Jibes with other's I know whose files were shipped on the 11th. I Skype called Soogyeong and woke her up to share the news. then about 20 minutes later, our file changed BACK to Approved. :bonk: At this point, I am thinking of 'The Monkey and the Greased Football..."

I Need a BIGGER Rock.

We were approved on Aug 24 and moved quite fast through the following steps. Currently our petition is on its way to the USEM in Tokyo, hopefully being delivered today. I am extremely grateful for getting this far but the feeling of "so close but not quite there yet" is stronger than ever. We have a three month old baby together and I guess thats the reason for being so impatient. It feels like we started this process ages ago and its been so emotionally draining. I went through my pregnancy all alone, we mutually agreed that the smart way to go is to save the travel money for our baby and our future life, we both worked during that period. Chris came to Japan after I gave birth to our son, spent three weeks here and went back to find out he lost both of his jobs...prior to coming here he got robbed and stabbed so had to take time off to recover, 5 weeks in total and they found replacement for him.

I don't have any family in Japan or anyone to help me with the baby so I had to quit my job and are now fully depending on Chris, thank god for saving up during the pregnancy period.

Anyway...thats how things are with us...the light at the end of the tunnel is definitely there but it still feels like theres a long way to reach it.

I use Case Buddy, developed for iPhone. There is a better one, but it requires ios 8.0, and I have not upgraded, as my iPhone is a 4, and ios 8.0 is a drag and uses too much memory. Case Buddy icon is a red shield with a green check mark on it. The red 3-side shield (shaped like a guitar pick) is on a red square background. It does nothing more than check your USCIS Status Page, but makes checking it from your phone convenient

I am so glad you were approved and that things are moving quickly. I can certainly relate, at least in part, to some of what you're going through: My mother worked as a nurse in 2008 when the economy fell, and she ended up unemployed (or only temporary employment) for five years, and untimately had to obtain a higher degree to find another job, so I've seen firthand how challenging it can be to be in a similar situation. I hope things will move in a positive direction for both of you, and that your family will be together soon.

I notice you're also in North Carolina (or at least Chris is). Where in NC? I'm in Raleigh.

He is in Fayetteville, he's ex military and from my understanding a lot of military and ex military are there.

Yes, that is very true. It's actually gained a sort of nickname because of it, and some people call it Fayettenam. I personally think the nickname is in poor taste for a number of reasons, and so I don't use it myself, but I've seen it used enough by others.
