Ohhh thank you Tom! So our noa1 is feb 25 and 6 months have passed already. I guess its just not our time yet because a lot of feb filers have been approved already and they are starting with march applications.

There are still January Cases that have not yet been approved, (and until this week, a few dozen from 2014, so you have company in the waiting.

Hmmm....

Yana32, you are congratulating Mad & J, but quoting me, so I am not sure who you are asking your question to.

However, as I explained earlier, there truly can be no 'case before you' as Mad & J posted, because TSC does not process files in order, and the NOA1 Case numbers are not in any specific order either. However, there is a chronology to the numbers, and somewhat of an order, based on the internal timestamp of the case files, which cannot be seen on the Receipt.

For example, My case file is SRC1590222846, which is a March 5th NOA1, There are 13 others, (small group, as some days have upwards of 150). I have an APP on my iPhone called Case Buddy. It's free. It allows me to input multiple USCIS case files, and check on the status at anytime, just by selecting 'Update'. Since all of the March 5 cases begin with SRC1590222, that means that I only had to cycle through the 1000 different combinations that are the last 3 digits to locate the other 13 numbers. The smallest being 511 and the largest, (mine) at 846. I have all 14 plugged in to the Case Buddy APP, and can check on all March 5th Files as often as I like. I will know when a fellow March 5th case is Approved, or RFE'd before it is ever posted on Immifairy, and possibly before the lucky Approved Couple does.

So, as Mad & J posted, it IS Possible to know that the file 'Before Yours' is approved. even though it truly is not 'Before', just 'Near'.

Tom

Ohhh sorry Tom i meant to congratulate mad and j. I must have hit the wrong button as i am reading and rereading and tryinn to understand things. This is crazy and i wish the waitig would end soon.

We were approved last night at long last!!! I was just talking to my fiancee on Skype last night about an hour before we got notice, and telling her that the case before ours had been approved but that we shouldn't get our hopes up too much because it didn't necessarily mean anything, and that we might have to wait another couple of weeks for all we knew. Glad I was wrong!

SO glad that this part is over! Now I just have to review the next steps, it's been so long that I've forgotten most of it. :P

Best of luck to those still waiting! I hope that your turn comes very soon!

Congratulations!! :)

Yeah, when I say "the case before mine" I mean the one with a case file number that was just one digit off of ours (theirs ended in 57 and ours in 58), but it was the same type of visa (I-129F) and had the same received date as ours. But like I said in my previous post, I knew not to put too much stock into that since there is no rhyme or reason to the order in which the cases are processed. I guess we just got lucky to be approved the day after they were.

Hmmm....

APPROVED!!!! I checked my USCIS app this morning and it said we had been approved on Aug. 28. So happy right now! :joy:

I don't think they ever updated the system on Friday...we had no text, no email, Immifairy tracked no approvals, and my case status still said 'received' until this morning...so it must have just been updated...

If one is truly interested in knowing what is happening to the files around theirs, they can spend a little ‘down-time’ plugging the surrounding numbers into the My USCIS – Case Status Search page:

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

The first 9 digits of your NOA1 are a reference to your NOA1 date , (check your hard copy). You take it from there. For instance, my number begins with SRC159022, and all of the March 5th files happen to begin with those numbers (some dates have more than one)

~ [transition from SRC159022 to SRC159023 for example] ~

Adding the final 4 numbers makes for 9,999 possible combinations.

Get busy.

I put SRC159022 on my clipboard, (highlight + ctrl + c) and proceeded to work my way through the possible combinations, beginning with my number, proceeding forward to SRC1590222999, and then backwards to SRC1590221500. As you can see (and do math in your head) that is a 1500 consecutive case file check. But, My Beloved one is 11,000 km away, and 13 hours out of sync, so I have some 'Down-time' to fill, especially on the weekends.

After each status check, put your cursor in the blank, hit ctrl+v to drop your clipboarded first 9-digits, add the next number in the final-four sequence, and hit the ‘check status’ button.

There are many different types of files that use these Case numbers, but each time I came across one that was for both March 5th, and form I-129F, I wrote it down until I found all of the March 5th fiance’ visa files that are listed.

Now, you can download a free case file checker for your smart phone, ( I have Case Buddy ), or you can go back to the USCIS Case File page:

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

and register or logging in. There, you can input your data, to include your mobile number and email address. There is a place to input case files, and you can input many of them. I have 14 logged in. There is also a setting to receive an email alert, a mobile alert, or both, whenever one of your listed files changes status, like from Received to APPROVED.

So, if any of the March case file numbers around mine are disturbed, USCIS will notify me.

Tah-Dah …..

I am an immifairy member, and at immifairy, you can learn how many filers there are on your particular filing date, but you cannot get the complete case file numbers of others who are also filed on your filing date. That requires the manual effort. Immifairy will only give the first 9 digits of the 13 in each case file, and you can learn nothing by checking those numbers. Also, immifairy gives you a listing of file actions 'the morning after'. I will know as soon as USCIS updates the file. . . .any file that is on March 5th. I prefer the advanced warning to yesterday's news. Yes, I know a computer... I make my living on one. 8^D
