Schedule interview before receiving Packet 3 with Appointment confirmation ?

Hello everyone,
The NVC informed us that our case was already sent to the Moroccan consulate and got the CSB number ( for Casablanca )
When I checked the Status on CEAC, it says :

Case Creation Date: 10-Mar-2015 Status Updated Date: 16-Mar-2015

( READY )

My question is, is it possible now to pay the visa fee and shedule an interview date online and use that appointment confirmation to do the medical exam and use it as an invitation letter on that day. or I need to wait for the Packet 3 ? considering that I have a list of all the documents I'll need.
because I'm worried if the packet 3 will take time or gets lost, I read that it happened especially that our Post service in morocco is not really good.

is appointment confirmation enough, or I will need that invitation letter that NVC supposed to send on packet 3 ?

Thank you for your response. I'm glad I got to find a Moroccan person who already went through this process. I found out today that the embassy received my case on Mars 19th. How long it will take for them to send a packet 3 ? How long it took for you to receive it ?
