Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case [Part II]

Just got outta my Infopass appointment. Arrived at 11:15 for an 11:30 appointment, finally saw someone at 12:40.

The officer was really friendly. I first asked about my lost EAD and she told me that unfortunately they couldn't do anything about it and the suggested route of refilling and expediting through my congressman was the best one.

She was surprised at how long my I-485 has been pending. She checked and found that it's at the Hialeah, FL field office and said that was unfortunate because if it was in their office she could have pulled it and got it worked on immediately. She then tried to file a service request to get it worked but because I already filed one online that hasn't yet been answered, the system wouldn't allow it. My service request has an NYC suffix but she said its now assigned to an officer in Florida. Apparently April 9 is the date they must respond by and so she told me to come back after that if there was no movement.

Guess you can say that those 2 SR responses from before were bogus; no interview. Atleast it is at a field ofice...Soon, soon, that is my hope...

I hear you, the OMBUDSMAN do tend to copy and paste things but I guess they have quite a few to get through with the AOS being SO slow right now.

Hopefully the OMBUDSMAN might also ask the USCIS why the delay is getting longer and longer and find a resolution that works for everyone, as quite frankly a year and over of waiting is just unacceptable. If the USCIS is that backlogged then that means they have millions of applications but also that they have millions of fees to actually employ more people and perhaps give the USA an employment boost too!

And that is exactly why the statement by the spokesman for the USCIS said in the NY Times article in Jan 2015 that they know they need to hire more officers by have not for "...undisclosed reasons..." Code word: POLITICS...

Good afternoon all. Good news re your case GuiseppeG - a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

This morning the Cincinnati Field Office leapt on the expedite request of my service request regarding my expedite request. A friendly officer with expert knowledge of immigration law and procedure called me at 9:30am and apologised profusely for the unacceptable wait I had been facing. She ordered my green card right there and then and said she would put priority printing on it and have it Fedex'd to me overnight. She also said that due to the long wait she would amend the resident from date to my date of marriage so that I would qualify for citizenship sooner ...

... then I woke up and realised I had to go to work.

Anyone nearly spit their tea or Mountain Dew out there? ;-)

Back in the real world my request from yesterday hasn't been touched and the Cincinnati field office don't open on a Wednesday. Apparently they don't have enough work to justify it.

In teenagers this would be classified as a "wet" dream...too good to be true...Sorry...

Well finally received good news from tier 2. After hearing time after time that my wife's case was at the NBC, it was finally moved on March 27th. Her application is currently at the Harlingen, Texas field office awaiting adjudication.

Great news...It broke out of solitary at the "Hill"...one step closer...

I am not sure whether Congressman or Ombudsman's help or it is my turn. My status was not changed around 12am EST, but I got a message around 1am EST. We ordered your new card on March 31, 2015. My dream ( yesterday ) becomes true even it is a little quicker than actual date 4/8/2015 and it might be a date of receiving GC instead of approval. I expected to receive RFE for medical exam because my medical is way expired and I missed flu and varicella shots.

Good luck to you all and hope everyone will get GC soon.

New Journey AOS:

My fiancee came to US on the 8th of March, 2014 under K-1 visa at Newark, NJ Airport for POE.

Applied Social Security Number on the 10 of March, 2014.

Married on the 13th of March, 2014.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver on July 1, 2014 date 6/27

Contacted Ombudsman on 01/12/2015.

Ombudsman contacted USCIS on 02/20/2015.

Ombudsman sent a follow up to USCIS on 03/18/2015.

I-485 approved on 03/31/2015 ( we ordered your card).

Welcome notice was mailed on 04/01/2015.

Received Welcome Notice on 04/08/2015.

Card was mailed to me/picked up by USPS on 04/08/2015.

Received GC on 4/10/2015.

Good morning to everyone! Yes, this is how early I come into work and have my Mountain Dew. Yesterday was an eventful day for some of us. Congratulations again to Anonymous on their well deserved approval! I recommend everyone that has been waiting close to a year contact USCIS and request to speak with tier 2. Tier 1 will not give you a hard time about it, just call early. This is important because if you don't know where your application is at, don't assume it's still at the NBC, call and inform yourself. It was surprising to see many people not knowing the whereabouts of their application. If you have to call USCIS daily, then do, remember you paid a fee, and we are their customers. I know we get a lot of misinformation, but atleast they can tell you where the application is and what day it was transferred. I hope we will see a lot of approvals today and in the remainder of the week, God knows we need them to boost our morale.

Thank you Espared. I guess my wife and I really need to call again. We called mid march and tier1 refused to transfer us to tier2 but did file a useless service request. Needless to say we didn't get a response to that. We have no idea if our application is still at NBC. We are basically at one year since filing and our fingerprints were received on April 10th...

Told you to believe in the power of dreams although I would be rather hesitant given the date 1st of April That's how much I trust the USCIS... Not! They send out bogus service requests, send people to bogus interviews so whats to stop them sending out an April Fools just for shits and giggles?

Congratulations for getting that they ordered your card and I will give you a doubly big Congratulations when it arrives to your address and doesnt get lost like it did with Guiseppe or Natonstan!! Let's hope their are more approvals today!! Enjoy! :) Doing my happy dance for you with my cup of tea and the Easter Bunny! :)

Good morning Peeps,,

Seems there has been an approval after midnight? Very strange, obviously very aware of the date to day and we all know the USCIS like to send out bogus service requests, send you to bogus field office appointments etc. I am even wondering if they are now pretending to be the OMBUDSMAN, wouldnt that be funny seeing as they would have got the wrong date. Its April 1st today not yesterday!

Any way sorry for being so cynical I didn't use to be until i started reading all the stories on here and I guess you just couldn't make some of them up!!

Hopefully the USCIS are in the spirit of Easter and miracles will happen at this wonderful time of year! May the Green Force be with you ALL today! :)
