Well let's hope Carrie Anderson has an answer, five or so of these emails have gone out today and it just isn't right or fair if someone has sent them out without actually working on any of the cases!

This is very weird because the case number was in the email and my wife's name was in the subject line along with the case number.

It also had the name of my wife, and our case number attached in the subject as well.

Maybe carrie was assigned a large batch of people from March/April - and when you called it hadn't been updated yet in the system that she was working on all of them.

She could very well be working on all of our cases in a large batch.

3 weeks shy of a year, and my birthday is on the 17th of April... Id really like it so when my wife is surprised me on my birthday I can also surprise her. :)

Best birthday gift everrrrrrrrrr. Por favorrrrrrr. :dancing:

GiuseppeG, MovinOn and anyone that has insight in setting up InfoPass appointment, which option under “Services on a case that has already been filed” did you choose? the last one - Case Services follow-up appointment? I do have one pending unassigned SR, however, it has been 27 days. But the first three options don't seem to be applicable. Thank you!

We offer 4 kinds of appointments for a case that you have already filed. Please choose from the following -

  • Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.
  • EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.
  • Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I called Ombudsman and actually talked to someone in their office. She had no knowledge of emails being sent out. She checked my case and said it has not been assigned to an analyst. I read her the email and she says it's even conflicting and doesn't make sense.

Well this is the weirdest thing! But it always is, isn't it? I don't think I have ever experienced so many mysteries in any situation in my life as this process!

Just got outta my Infopass appointment. Arrived at 11:15 for an 11:30 appointment, finally saw someone at 12:40.

The officer was really friendly. I first asked about my lost EAD and she told me that unfortunately they couldn't do anything about it and the suggested route of refilling and expediting through my congressman was the best one.

She was surprised at how long my I-485 has been pending. She checked and found that it's at the Hialeah, FL field office and said that was unfortunate because if it was in their office she could have pulled it and got it worked on immediately. She then tried to file a service request to get it worked but because I already filed one online that hasn't yet been answered, the system wouldn't allow it. My service request has an NYC suffix but she said its now assigned to an officer in Florida. Apparently April 9 is the date they must respond by and so she told me to come back after that if there was no movement.

Well that is very good news! At least you know it has moved! You should be hearing something soon. I have a little more hope when we go for our info pass on April 13th. Maybe we will at least find out where our file is! If I had my choice, of course I would rather be approved before we have to even drive down there again!

Thanks for sharing

This is what I just got reply back from my senator --> it's the reply she received from NBC about my case:

After a review of our systems it was found that case MSC1490878xxx, Form 1-485 received 04/04/2014 for xxx xxxx has been identified as a possible interview waiver case and is currently being held at the NBC pending a field office review. The interview waiver cases are being shipped to the local USC'S field offices based on field office capacity. At this time the processing time is approximately 9-12 months or more. Because these cases potentially do not require an interview, they are being sent to field offices based on their capacity to adjudicate the cases, not necessarily the field office that is closest to the applicant.

The decision to waive the interview for certain cases is based on standards set at the national level. The standards include adjustment categories in which there is normally enough evidence included with the case to make an adjudicative decision without an interview. The adjudicative office takes into account these standards, as well as the specific situation of each applicant, on a case by case basis, to determine whether the interview may be waived.

Good afternoon all. Good news re your case GuiseppeG - a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

This morning the Cincinnati Field Office leapt on the expedite request of my service request regarding my expedite request. A friendly officer with expert knowledge of immigration law and procedure called me at 9:30am and apologised profusely for the unacceptable wait I had been facing. She ordered my green card right there and then and said she would put priority printing on it and have it Fedex'd to me overnight. She also said that due to the long wait she would amend the resident from date to my date of marriage so that I would qualify for citizenship sooner ...

... then I woke up and realised I had to go to work.

Anyone nearly spit their tea or Mountain Dew out there? ;-)

Back in the real world my request from yesterday hasn't been touched and the Cincinnati field office don't open on a Wednesday. Apparently they don't have enough work to justify it.
