Sorry to be the bearer of bad news here folks, but I also just received an email from the Ombudsman and it is identical to everyone elses... and it says I sent in the request on March 18th.... but I didn't, I sent it to them on March 26th. It would appear that this is just a canned response. A simple cut and paste from the Ombudsman... :-(

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your request for assistance. On March 18, 2015, in response to our inquiry, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicated that your case is actively being reviewed. At this time, USCIS is unable to provide a specific time frame for resolution of your case. The Ombudsman's Office will continue to coordinate with USCIS Headquarters to resolve your case.

Please be advised that USCIS has 60 days to respond to our inquiry. Any available updates will be forwarded to you. Cases that do not receive an update will continue to be brought to USCIS for resolution.

In the event that you receive new information or experience changed circumstances, please notify us by email at cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov. Please reference 'New/Urgent Inquiry Number xxxxxxxx' in the subject line, and describe in detail your situation.

Thank you for your patience as we work with USCIS to resolve your inquiry.

Sincerely,

Carrie Anderson

I contacted the Ombudsman on March 20th, and I've not heard anything yet. The acceptance email provided a phone number and case number, would it be worth calling them to ask about it? Or would it still be too early?

Not necessarily so, they obviously are looking at cases and ringing up the USCIS or faxing them or emailing them in one bulk load as they probably got lots that day/week or within the past 2 weeks.

They are touching cases now, else they wouldn't have sent out the email and they are saying the USCIS has 60 days to respond to their request.

Don't get me wrong... them saying "The Ombudsman's Office will continue to coordinate with USCIS Headquarters to resolve your case. " makes me feel great! ....but the fact that they're claiming they spoke to the USCIS about my case a week before I even engaged them leaves me little hope that this is a legitimate claim..

I HATE that the USCIS has made me so pessimistic! :ranting:

I hear you, the OMBUDSMAN do tend to copy and paste things but I guess they have quite a few to get through with the AOS being SO slow right now.

Hopefully the OMBUDSMAN might also ask the USCIS why the delay is getting longer and longer and find a resolution that works for everyone, as quite frankly a year and over of waiting is just unacceptable. If the USCIS is that backlogged then that means they have millions of applications but also that they have millions of fees to actually employ more people and perhaps give the USA an employment boost too!

Sorry I have not replied to many of you, I'm at work. I contacted Ombudsman for the first time on 03/16/2015. I called Ombudsman this past Friday and was basically told to chill out, that they were currently processing requests from January. Now that I remember, I emailed Ombudsman as well on March 18th about my wife's case. Don't want to get too excited because the more excited, the harder the fall. Atleast someone is trying to pressure USCIS. GO OMBUDSMAN!!! I HAVE FAITH IN YOU!!! **Correction** Whoops, my bad, I emailed them on March 24th not the 18th.

Amen to that! I have faith in them also and hopefully when my time comes as it will, they will be my advocate too! One step closer to your GC! And getting it on April 1st seems even more likely, that would be ironic wouldn't it!!! :)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I called Ombudsman and actually talked to someone in their office. She had no knowledge of emails being sent out. She checked my case and said it has not been assigned to an analyst. I read her the email and she says it's even conflicting and doesn't make sense.

Well thats just plain weird, someone in the office has to have sent those emails out, a computer can't do it by itself! Perhaps the person who did isn't there, perhaps they aren't communicating with each other. Have you thought about replying to the email that was sent out?

Well I dont know whats going on Esperedo says that they just phoned them and they had no knowledge of the emails sent out today. I am wondering if someone is working on them and hasnt told the person who actually answered the phone. These emails have to be sent out by a human, a computer just wouldn't generate them without someone behind the computer!

Well let's hope Carrie Anderson has an answer, five or so of these emails have gone out today and it just isn't right or fair if someone has sent them out without actually working on any of the cases!
