Well it is offical:

attachicon.gifUntitled.jpg

I could say it's about time, but I've said that already. I could say we are happy, but you know that. I can also tell you that I am still angry. Finally got a call from my Senators office about an hour ago and I told the staffer, "Thanks but no thanks." But I did launch into a major league concern for the many of us who have and continue to wait. This bureacratic nightmare (unrelated to the overall immigration question) must be dealt with...

We are happy and it perked up my recovering wife. Now (as soon the GC is in hand) she can start the petitioning for her adult son...and that will take a LONG time...

Thank you all for listening to my somewhat jaded, cynical and sometimes humerous posts...I am also not leaving. This battle must be fought by all of us until decisions are made in a reasonable period of time...

I am VERY happy for you! CONGRATULATIONS! Happy to hear that your wife will soon petition for her son. You waited the most than any of us. We all hope to be in your shoes soon.

Espared12, what kind of inconveniences you' ve suffered using Advance parole ? I am gonna use it in a few months , so I would like to know what to expect?

Long wait times. The longest I have waited for my wife has been 3 hours. We also crossed when CBPs system was down and I had to take her back to Mexico because they would not parole her without their system. They told me that time to leave her there until the system was up, but I refused to leave her and they told me to take her back to Mexico. We crossed the next day without problems. If you're going to travel show you I-797 approval notice you got along with your card. It clearly states on there that you are approved to travel. Some CBP officers still don't have a clue about Advance Parole.

Finally! I'm so pleased for you. All the best to you and your wife. Pop back and see us regularly please!

Thanks, you and Natonstan have had to put up with my rants and poor attempts at humor since I joined December 9th. You put up with that lame attempt of a teleconference and have dug up great info. Wouldn't miss your approval for a minute...

Congratulations!

Thank you very much. My reputation is intact because of you.

I am VERY happy for you! CONGRATULATIONS! Happy to hear that your wife will soon petition for her son. You waited the most than any of us. We all hope to be in your shoes soon.

Thanks to both of you. You guys are troopers. Your undying love for each other is evident by the attention to one another during the elongated ####### you both put up with at the border. You guys deserve better and most of all your wife deserves that golden ring we have and continue to strive for -- the Green Card...as soon as humanly possible...

June filer too. I did 2 service request since January ,and submitted to Ombudsman yesterday. I don't know if any of these would help though.

I might try to file for an e-request next month, let's see if anything will happen in these 6 months of extra wait...

Congrats! I know it is hard for us to wait this long. It is a mess, I just wish things would happen faster for us all.

I hope things are smoother with her petition for her son. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to be separated from my son even when he is an adult. It is tough enough being separated from my parents, however it is more their choice than mine. We are unfortunately estranged due to my choice to be with my now wife.

So I just realized at the top of my service request it now shows the Vermont Service Center. I was never notified that it was transferred from the NBC to Vermont. I guess this means we might be scheduled for an Interview soon! Disheartening after waiting for a year. Hoping to hear some news soon! Has anyone been transferred to a field office, or service center nearby / approved without an interview? From what I can see most of the time it ends with an Interview if you are transferred to a field office / service center like Vermont.

Thank you guys...It is a good feeling that you will all enjoy...someday...and hopefully sooner than later. For you guys out there waiting for more than one year, even the approvals at or very near one year, but definatly later NOA days than yours hurt; it is terrible, intolerable and inhumane. This has got to be fixed. And hopefully the next week brings you your reward as well...

We don't anticipate an easy road for get her son here. The priority for Permanent Resident petitions is lower than for citizen petitions. At best what we can hope for is 5 - 7 years. This is why the delay to GC was even worse for us (and still is for Shell and others with adult children and parents). It delayed petitioning. We will try to gain naturalization as quickly as the 3 years allow us, but there are backlogs there as well. At that time, my wife can petition him as a citizen as well and hopefully speed the process...

So this delay for all of us is more than just inconvenience...it messes up all of our lives...

USCIS has just started transferring cases around again but it shouldn't affect your case http://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/workload-transfer-within-service-center-operations

Experiences on this thread tell us that until you get a letter / RFE from a local office other than your own, your case is at the NBC. If you get told by Tier 2 that your case is not at the NBC it probably is. If you get told by Tier 1 that your case is not at the NBC it definitely is.

In your case they probably ran out of NBC headed paper and used Vermont's stock instead, or moved the printer there.
