Did you get chance to make this call?

Sure did, and I was told Tier 2 was closed and to call earlier. I requested supervisor and tier 1 gave me pushback at first but I explained everything and she got me through to supervisor. Supervisor basically confirmed my suspicion, that tier 1 was bs'n me yesterday. There was a part of me that wanted to believe only because she was so knowledgeable about the NPIW. So at this point I don't know where my wife's application is. My best guess is it's still rotting away at the NBC. I told the supervisor if there was any way I could be transferred. She agreed that I did need to talk to tier 2. I told her I don't get off work until 4PM MST and my wife doesn't call during the morning because she really doesn't understand everything I did and everything that I can explain to them. She said she was sorry but their transferring system is blocked when tier 2 can't take anymore calls. She suggested infopass. I would hate to lose a day off work to have these people tell me it's still at the NBC. I'll have to workout something to give me a chance to call.

I am now of the firm belief that you can't believe a word they say about your case location [or most other things] until you get the approval notification or a RFE from a random office.

Try not to be too dis-heartened. I really do think that you must be getting towards the very front of the queue by now. Surely it can't go on much longer.

Good morning Peeps,

Did you miss me yesterday? I decided to have a day off didn't feel great, it can be rather depressing and soul crushing to see everyone going through this. I did however, have a look at some posts!! Congrats Natonstan for finally receiving your GC despite the fiasco with its delivery, it didn't surprise me that it would be awkward to the end! Enjoy it my friend, you deserve it and please don't feel guilty.

I am SO sorry Guiseppe, I don't know what to say to you, its absolutely disgusting what has happened! Wonder if its anything like the UK we have around 70 million national insurance cards for the 70 million or so legal residents but there around a 100 million cards in circulation. I hope you can resolve this and I hope that this up produces your GC.

Esperado12 sorry to hear about the phone call but to be quite honest that is the reply I was expecting you to get. I did a bit of research the day before yesterday and the ombudsman normally takes around 3 weeks to sort things out if you are over the processing times, so hopefully you will hear sooner rather than later! Its your time now!

As for other comments I will have to go through them after I wake up with this nice cup of tea!!

Any way its time for us to see many, many approvals today. Good luck everyone and may the USCIS force be with you, plus the I0 at all the field offices!!! :)

I think Nlhernan says if you get the 10 year one its a longer wait. I think he did, just so many posts trying to go through them all! Is the card bright green, always wondered why they call it that?

Huh, Well I didnt really think they did anyway. It was a long time for them to respond to Nat. So I didnt think they could move that fast. Did you receive the card yet? I was thinking about having my husband frame his when it comes. lol

After doing research the other day on the net I think they take around 3 weeks, that seems to be the average mean time. Not sure when Marionk4a did theirs, seems they just got lucky!

Thank you .So in your case Ombudsman did help some .Wish I would have done this in January too . Now I am facing a long wait for their response.

This is UNTRUE! Just because the OMBUDSMAN took over a month with Natonstan, doesnt necessarily mean that it will take that time with any one else!

Natonstan was NOT over processing time when he contacted the OMBUDSMAN, so they wouldn't have been able to do much with his request until he was outside of the processing times!

The mean average if you look at people's old posts that have contacted the OMBUDSMAN is around 3 weeks, can take up to 60 days but normally they conclude it before this date.

Obviously if you don't hear within the 60 days they state (probably state this as a matter of course, so they don't get dozens of complaints) then you need to contact them to remind them.

I just got a call from an Unknown number. I expected it to be some sales call, but NO! It was the Cleveland USCIS Field Office.

They told me interview has been waived, and they are requesting the file from NBC today. It will take about 3 weeks to get the file then 30 days to make a decision. If they need anything more they will get in touch with me in writing.

Guess my Congressman's enquiries did pay off. It was an officer who called me. She said as long as all the background checks and everything has cleared I should get an answer within that time period.

I can't believe this great news. This happens just after USCIS tells me it could take 9 to 12 months more. Haha.

Thats great news! although I don't understand why a file would take 3 weeks to get there! Did you apply to the OMBUDSMAN or has this definitely come from your Congressman? Seems if it is the congressman then they need to show other congressman how to deal with USCIS.

Holy fying :ranting: ! I just read this. I cannot believe this. What in the world is going on with USCIS?

That's what I want to know. It's been awful quiet today. I hope everything is ok.

Everything is fine guys, just needed a day off from the forum, as it get's a tad depressing and frustrating when I see you guys still waiting. I guess I also thought if I take a day away by some miracle you would all get approved. How wrong was I!!! Today is a different day and I am ready to go onto the battle field and see who we can help, ready to hear about GC approvals so I can do my Happy Dance! Time for the "old timers" to get those cards or at least hear a response from the OMBUDSMAN!! I hope you green stuff has caffeine in it espared12!! :)

I didn't file with the Ombudsman, that was the next step I was planning to take before I got this surprise call. I had done an SR and gotten my congressman to get in touch at the same time. I don't know which one worked, but it did.

That is very good news!!

I can't do anything yet, not a service request, a how is your mother request as my field office is SO slow, only on early July filers and Im an August one. I don't expect them to be on mid August by next month's processing figures, in fact it wouldnt surprise me if they went backwards! Nothing surprises with the system any more, not a singular thing. Sorry I tell a lie, what surprises me is when they do a block of approvals, not good for the old ticker! lol!

Actually come to think of it, I think Derwood has similar dates to you and his office is in Ohio somewhere, perhaps you can give him your Co :)ngress persons details? :)
