So I have just received an update from Ombudsman regarding my inquiry. Overall it took about 2 weeks for them to respond. And apparently Ombudsman has nothing to do with my approval

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Ombudsman’s Office has determined that USCIS recently issued a decision regarding the application or petition referenced in your request for assistance. Your I-485 was approved 3-20-2015. If you do not receive the decision notice within 15 days, please contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283.

Since USCIS has issued a decision, our office will be closing this inquiry.

Thank you for giving the Ombudsman’s Office the opportunity to assist you.

Sincerely,

congrats :goofy:

I can't believe USCIS will not use any other shipment method other than USPS. We fork out big bucks to have applications processed, the least they can do is use FedEx. The immigration system is so broken, I don't think there will every be someone that can pick up all the pieces and fix it, at least not in this lifetime.

There is probably some contractual agreement between this (and many other) agency to use the USPS. When I was in the military, it was very RARE that we used UPS and that was for unusual circumstances only...

I've been thinking about this and am formulating a letter to the editor of the NY Times to respond to their article in January. Saying the immigration system is broken is a cop out. Why? Yes there has always been a problem of quotas from different countries for legal immigration. There is a problem with illegal immigration. And then there is the bureaucratic nightmare that we are experiencing...And they are all different...I can guarantee that no comprehensive immigration bill previously proposed would have cured the problem we are experiencing. It is a management issue of government employees by political appointees who are directed by political agendas, as the January 2015 NY Times article stated. They know they have a backlog, they have directed for more hiring to help with this back log, but at that writing, no one was hired for "...some undisclosed reason..."

I'm still thinking, but nothing presently proposed will help our cause...

Thank you so much! The AOS thread is exactly what I was looking for.

Hi.Can I ask you how to get a new medical ? I know it is to find a civil surgeon ,then what ? Do you just redo all the exam there ? DO you have to re get all the shots again ? I got several shots at doctor when I did the medical first time .My medical is about to expire soon

I'm adjusting from K-1 visa with I-485, I applied in June, 2014 and got waiver letter in september 2014. yes i do check my status with MSC.... :)

I met the same problem ,but not with the receipt number of GC but the receipt number of my EAD. For like two or three months ,everytime I check my status of my EAD with the RIGHT receipt number ,it always told me my case can't be found ,my number is wrong . I thought if I waited it might change .So I waited for 2 or 3 months until I realize it never change and everyone else have gotten EAD except me .I called USCIS and they promise to call back and look up my case for me but they never called back .So I called again and they had me spoke to tier 2 about my wired status .A few days after that ,my case status changed to normal which means I can find it on USCIS website. So I personally think your case status is abnormal too just like mine before .And it delayed my process because in that first few months when I couldn't find my case status,no action was taken about my case .It ended up taking 5 months for me to get my EAD

How would I go about requesting a Tier 2 callback? My only experience with calling USCIS is a 45 minutes hold session followed by being told pretty much nothing apart from 'please wait'.

Well, are you outside processing times?
