So how long do people have to wait to hear from the ombudsman? We contacted them and got the automated email confirmation on 3/16 so how long after that are people tending to hear anything? The site said they have 45 days to respond.

I contacted Ombudsman's office on 1/12 and they contacted USCIS on 02/20.

New Journey AOS:

My fiancee came to US on the 8th of March, 2014 under K-1 visa at Newark, NJ Airport for POE.

Applied Social Security Number on the 10 of March, 2014.

Married on the 13th of March, 2014.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver on July 1, 2014 date 6/27

Contacted Ombudsman on 01/12/2015.

Ombudsman contacted USCIS on 02/20/2015.

Ombudsman sent a follow up to USCIS on 03/18/2015.

I-485 approved on 03/31/2015 ( we ordered your card).

Welcome notice was mailed on 04/01/2015.

Received Welcome Notice on 04/08/2015.

Card was mailed to me/picked up by USPS on 04/08/2015.

Received GC on 4/10/2015.

I contacted Ombudsman's office on 1/12 and they contacted USCIS on 02/20.

Yours is not a stereo typical case or the mean average. Having done some recent investigations I hear they are quite efficient and normally you have a reply/action within 3 weeks!

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

 

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

She probably had the authority to press the button to send out that letter, tier 1's are the admin! However, it's out of their hands at USCIS, once it ends up in field office, they aren't privy to that info once it leaves as a tier 2 told one our friends on Friday, however they have to be the ones to send out our files, right?!?!

Hate to stop this boat from floating, but Esperado12, did you read what was posted on the thread today?

Apparently one of our friends posted today, they had a lengthy discussion with a Tier 2 on Friday late, who openly admitted that they do not have any insight to what is happening with our files. Only a info pass would give an insight, they blatantly admitted that they do not know what happens to the files and that it is with immigration officers in whatever field office has the capacity and they are not privy to that info, so I don't know how a tier 1 would know such vast info.

However, as I said in response to this post, the USCIS has to know which field office they actually sent it too!! Right? You would think wouldn't you, any way excuse me as I carry on listening to my 80's music and doing an Abba dance, it is preferable to listening about the DAILY, total #### up at USCIS! :)

However, USCIS says in their AOS paperwork that they will inform of us of important actions, I.e., receipt and approval but directly state they will not inform us of transfers or other interoffice actions. This is transparency in an agency we shell out $1000 to. And they will use any form of obsfucation to keep us in the dark: conflicting messages from tiers 1 and 2, evasive SR's etc.

ok this might sound like a stupid question at this point, but what exactly is an Infopass? I've heard a lot about them.

Seeing as my NPIW has now expired, would it be appropriate for me to schedule one?

Natonstan your post about your GC being returned made my heart sink! Glad it's not as bad as it first seemed.

I'm convinced my welcome letter and GC will be sent to the wrong address because I've moved twice since filing, and had some other stuff from USCIS go to an old address. I tried to phone them today, all I wanted was for someone to confirm they have my current address. The first guy immediately transferred me to tier 2, which I didn't even want, and then the automated voice said the wait time was 129 minutes. Are you kidding me? My lunch break is 30 mins, who has time for that just to confirm their address?? Guess I'll just have to wait and see what does or doesn't arrive.
