No a service request is a reminder to the USCIS, that we are counting cobwebs, watching paint dry and grass growing and to remind them we actually exist and have paid the fees of a $1000 to prove so, only to be told that we aren't important and shut up and put up. Whereas the OMBUDSMAN is an independent body that acts as mediator to remind the USCIS, they need to act with in certain guidelines and processing times.

Thanks for your nice explanation . Maybe I need file that

Kind of a little off topic but, does anyone know if you can apply for Government jobs as an EAD holder? Or do you need to have a GC, or even citizenship?

I know off two people on this forum that I wont name, but two who can't pursue their government jobs because they only have an EAD card. So in answer to your question it looks like certain professions within the government go hand in hand with a GC. Hence another reason why people on this forum are so upset as to why they don't have their GC yet!

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

N400.  Application:      02/28/2018

Biometrics:                    02/22/2018

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(

Ombudsman will take 45 days to contact USCIS for me and then it would take 60 days for USCIS to respond the request from Ombudsman. USCIS does not respond Ombudsman's request yet (35 days so far). If you are considering to contact Ombudsman, then you should do it ASAP.

New Journey AOS:

Applied Social Security Number on the 10 of March, 2014.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver on July 1, 2014 date 6/27

Contacted Ombudsman on 01/12/2015.

Ombudsman contacted USCIS on 02/20/2015.

Ombudsman sent a follow up to USCIS on 03/18/2015.

I can't see your timeline so I can't comment on that. What I do know however is that the OMBUDSMAN form will ask if you have done a service request firstly. I guess they want you to go down every avenue available before contacting them. What the OMBUDSMAN go on is your local field office processing times, so if you are out of date there is a fair chance they will take up your case on your behalf.

I think the OMBUDSMAN is a great avenue, as it pushes the USCIS in the right direction and it also is sometimes better if a third party gets involved to stop any heated discussions, someone who can take a step back from it all and see if there is a delay with your case.

Wish it was more positive, I have been thinking of applying for a government job as they seem to have better holidays etc, but no chance of that without the elusive GC. I might add some government jobs not only require a GC, but citizenship too!

I have a question....I am getting ready for EAD/AP renewal apps. I have the cover letter, and a checklist.

My question is should I also include the copies of passport pages again, copies of marriage cert again, etc? I just wanted know if send everything like the first time, but include the copies of the issued ead card and the noa1's, and the photos.

I had calculated the renewal date of 4/17/15 however someone on here told me my calculations were wrong, so I recalculated and it said renewal date is 4/7/15 based off of 8/5/15 card expiration date. So I am getting all the paperwork ready now.

Can anyone help me?

Well I would be ringing or emailing the OMBUDSMAN as a matter of urgency. I don't know what your local field office processing times were at the time of contacting them. If the USCIS were within there processing times, ie your noa 1, at that point then they wouldn't have been able to do much at that given time. I know for example my local office is only just working on July filers.

My local office processing time is currently working on July,18 2014 which is way past my NOA1 (03/20/2014). One year mark is past couple days ago.

I see that, but its the time of your noa 1 at the time of contacting the OMBUDSMAN in January and the field office processing times then, not now

. It wouldn't hurt your case to remind the OMBUDSMAN that you are still waiting,(and very patiently) youre now way past processing time and way past the 6 month NPIW letter! Ring them if you can they are only open until 3pm I think each day, I think its from 11am until 3pm. Time for you to receive your GC!

I contacted Ombudsman on 01/12 which my local office was working on 05/24 applications. I sent them an email which I said" This is ridiculous to wait 1 year+ and nothing is done. I have no idea what I could have done to make this process goes smoother and patience is out of my mind because I have waited 1 year+".

You really need to remind them, it seems your case has slipped through the net. I have done some research about them and they seem to be quite quick, normally sorting it out within 3 weeks. I would be emailing them now if I was you. Have you checked your junk email just in case

. All I can suggest is you ring and email them ASAP!

Thanks shell20.

Ombudsman might be quick but USCIS is sleeping or on vacation. I just sent an email to Ombudsman few minutes ago to show them how frustrating I am.
