Woo hoo!! Congrats!!

See? This is exactly what bothers so many people about the repeat medical. (note: You rock, Mrs. Regie! No hard feelings here at all. I'll even congratulate you in the August forum. ;) ) Her medical was 6 and a half months before my K1/K2, and we filed much sooner after entry into the country. It makes ZERO sense. They haven't been following their own guidelines for the June 2014 update. It's a crapshoot whether or not a K1 will have to redo medical if the USCIS takes too long to do their job. But again, congrats!! :D

I think the reason why because each local office has different pattern to follow. Just another example. Some SSA offices accepted name changed just providing marriage certificate even before filed AoS whether other offices won't allow to put married name without any credential proof from USCIS such as EAD or a green card. Even if they are working in a big office at same building where all files are sit together it won't guarantee they will use the same patterns.

I would consider myself getting redo my medical again as a learning lesson for me. At least now I know how to get I-693 done if someone asked me about that, :D

you're right! I think at this point, I'd be a better USCIS IO than the ones I've encountered. it's nuts how different these guys run from office to office.

If the TB result is negative then you can have the sealed envelope immediately.

Praying for the result would be negative. Mine was positive so I had to get x-ray done to see my chest. Turned out I don't have TB whatsoever. Oh well, my two previous medical exams within 2 years in my country showed nothing and they declared I was clear from TB. No idea why the result was positive.

If no bump or redness it means you are negative for TB test.

Yup, that's what they said. I can pick it up on Friday when they check the arm for TB.

Awesome news! Yes, please keep us posted. :)

I sent a letter off to the Tampa IO yesterday asking for clarifying information on what it is they want, specifically, since they were contradictory in their instructions. We have medicals scheduled still (of course), and will hopefully get this all mailed out before we leave for Europe on the 16th.

One thing to point out to people who don't often post here, or are new: :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: means that we're kidding, or making light of something that is frustrating. We are a collective group of applicants and spouses who've been put in a frustrating category of "hurry up and wait!" regarding the green card application. Some of us get approved out of the blue with no issues, and rather quickly. Some of us wait and wait and wait, and go through the proactive process of trying to keep USCIS on their toes and moving forward. Whether that helps, we can only speculate. And that's another thing this thread is for; we speculate on what's going on and why it's happening one way for some and another way for others. We are here to share our experiences and try to help those with questions. Sometimes we vent. It's a support group of sorts. So, if you feel you can relate, pull up a chair and enjoy the wait with like-experienced people If not, there are plenty of other forums to visit on VJ.

Happy Thursday.

I hope they come back saying "Oh my, we made a mistake! we've been asking thousands of people to get a new medical when it says right here that K1's are an exception when they have sent it to us within a year of applying!" :bonk::rofl:
