I believe you have insurance. I have insurance under Tricare Prime as well and my dentist expenses is covered - only paid small amount of money- and I am also free to go to Navy clinic. But I think you can't use your insurance to cover your expenses for immigration process.

If you are a dependent of active duty military member, your PCP (primary care provider at Naval hospital)would be considered as an authorized civil surgeon for I-693 purposes. You should go to your PCP at Naval hospital and redo your medical over there. Here is the link supporting what I said. https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor Edited by Super King

Hi Meslosun ,

How have you been doing ? I hope you are enjoying your time after you got the good news :) I just wanted to ask you a question about the Medical examination , i am already done with it and ready to send it soon , i was wondering if it is possible to send it by express mail , do they accept that ?

Thanks

Hello, Belga! I'm fine. We're planning our vacation :) I did't send anything with express mail. I sent my papers with priority. And it was fast. I saw some people on this forum wrote that they sent with express and they accepted it. Good luck.

Do you have the number for the Tier 2 officers? Also, how do you know whether to ask for a Tier 1 or 2? What did they ask you? Really want to know what office our case is at...

I asked the same question here before. I got an answer that after an automatic answer you spoke with Tier 1 and asked tier 1 to speak with Tier 2.

Although, the Tier 2 officer I spoke to was not particularly helpful. They may give you some response about where you case is (in general terms) but they unfortunately can't speed it up.

I just wanted to take a moment and congratulate all recent approvals! :dancing:

Been busy here in KY looking for work since I received GC (seems like potential employers take me more seriously now? as opposed to just having EAD - has anyone else noticed this?), and I start a new job on June 8th!

Good luck to everyone who are still waiting for their AOS to be approved, hopefully approval will come fast!

Hey July/August AOS filers - anybody making progress?? I filed on 08/14/14, and online says fingerprint fee received and at nebraska service center since last August. Does Uscis make decision at service center or transfer case to local office for final decision? Thanks! :)

I've heard conflicting reports regarding where they are processed. Some attorney websites state that they are processed at both the field offices and main service centers. However, I have spoken to both a customer service representative at the USCIS and also an immigration officer and they said that family based AOS is processed through local field offices. Moreover, if you have an interview waiver, then they aren't necessarily processed at your local field office.

My status states that it's still at the national benefits center (where i-485's are not processed, but where the receipts are routed through, apparently), however, on speaking to an immigration officer, he said that my case is actually at a local field office in CA (which is a long way from Milwaukee). I'm not sure whether the officer told me erroneous information, but it's plausible that your online status hasn't been updated.

Have you set up an infopass appointment?

Hope that helps....

Thank you very much. That is very insightful.

I tried online service request, but like everyone has mentioned, I get an error message.

I also receive an interview waiver letter a long while ago dated December 10, 2014. I was initially excited because I thought that things would move more swiftly than if I had interview. Guess I was wrong - seems that applicants who require interviews get decisions in half time, 5 or 6 months. what kind of strategy this is for reducing a backlog, where sketchy cases get priority and honest applicants get short ended? (And sorry, I know most applicants interviewed are honest too, and vise versa, but they are indentifying these cases for interview or not based on something. I'm just a bit annoyed.)

Good morning! We filed on August 2nd, 2014. No news for us yet. The way it allegedly works is it sits in Missouri (Not Nebraska, as it would seem) for awhile, then will eventually sift out to some field office that isn't as busy as the rest. At that point, you could get an RFE for something more they want, or a straigh-up approval. There have been a few August filers approved; there's been more July ones. But some April and before are still waiting for approval. :(

This is exactly why the "old-timers" should have stuck around a bit longer. Now this thread is mostly people who are new to this process. Even better would be for a post to remain fixed on the progress board so that there'd be lots of info, and not a lot of the blind leading the blind. :(

You're very welcome.

I think most of us on here feel your frustration. K1 is the slowest route despite being the most aboveboard. It really is a travesty that those who do not follow protocol get a quicker ride. However, that's life unfortunately.

We actually spoke to an immigration lawyer friend of ours who explicitly said that in most instances, service requests, infopass appointments and letters to representatives/senators have absolutely no influence on how quickly that case progresses.

The main thing is that you are allowed to work here, and you should have no problems gaining employment with your EAD. As long as you get in early with your EAD renewal (if it comes to that), you should have no problem with continuity of employment. Although your renewal application will be rejected if you submit it greater than 120 days prior to your current EAD expiry.
