On December 9th, after reading this thread, Part 1 on and off since June 2014, we finally decided to post. This was in the days when Nikkosan, Natonstan, GuisippeG, Derwood, Pat80, Cute Pansy and others were the big time posters. We had reached our 6th month in the post-NPIW era and were frustrated. On Dec. 7th, a Sunday and Pearl Harbor day, we were "bombed" with 5 successive texts. We were excited, but then found they all were related to our K-1 petition not our AOS. A very cruel joke. The next morning we got 2 more. I was hot to say the least and called USCIS to see what was up and to vent. I found out that IT was bring their system up to date and theTier 2 agent said they were sorry about the inconvenience. Still angry I wrote our first (rather long) posts describing our frustration and made the analog that the sortie of texts were our personal Pearl Harbor being it happened 74 years to the day of that atrocity. I figured I'd post once and just continue watching as before. But lo and behold we were attacked again, however this time by a member of this forum. The writer was incensed by my analogy; how dare I compare our puny and insignificant AOS to the victims of that "campaign". (By the way Pearl harbor was an attack, not a campaign). They demanded an apology by me to all surviving attack vets and to all vets and active duty servicemen for the perceived slight and to "...Sit down, shut up, and be patient like everyone else on this site..." I said wow, I thought this was a friendly and welcoming forum. I guess I was wrong.

Well anyone who knows me know I don't take unwarranted attacks sitting down, though I did sit down to write my response. I informed said member the both my father (20 years) and I (23 years) are retired military with conflict experiences. I thanked them for their service, if they did, and told them to "...get off my back..." if they didn't. I told them my opinion was mine, I served for the right for them AND ME to say it. They and no one else were getting an apology from me so take a hike and let's get back to hating USCIS , not me...I believe I was civil and the administrators didn't delete it and kicking me out. It's an interesting read if I do say so myself: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/452854-notice-of-potential-interview-waiver-case/page-38

I got no response and these very frequent posters subsequently stopped posting about 3 weeks later. They are May 2014 filers and have not amended their timeline to show approval yet, though they still visit the site...I wish them the best and if they have not been approved yet that it will be soon.

As you can tell, I didn't sit down and shut up. In six months I've posted over 600 times ranging from happy to down right venomous. I put the "cyn" in cynicism. And have stuck around 2 months after approval to see most of my oldtimer friends get approval (san MovinOn). Most have moved on. I gotta tell you I'm worn out and I must move on myself. I've become irrelevant. That doesn't mean I won't think of you all and root for your successes, but I will do that from afar. I will see some of you on the ROC thread in the future for that travail which I'm not looking forward to, but that's another story for another day...

So it's good-bye guys and good luck...

My assessment is a continuation of what l surmised 2 weeks ago: I think a number of factors are in play here. 1). The NY Times wrote a very negative story about all this in Jan and quoted a spokesman that they knew they needed to hire more Officers to speed approvals, but hadn't for some unknown reason. 2). There had to be increasing pressure from Representatives and Senators ('cause we were breathing down their necks) and from the Ombusman when we barrages them. 3). And most importantly you have to justify paying for all those new hires to process the 5 million illegal aliens, oops I meant our less than legal guests, which will not happen anytime soon (if ever)...

So this "Backlog Reduction Initiative" is the apparent result. The mass of approvals in one week is more than happened in the entire month of January. Things ground to a halt back then. Why? Executive action changed the priorities at USCIS. As it has been written here, Family-based AOS, especially from K-1 already had the lowest of low priority. In the face of the injunction against the Executive Action and the failure to grant the stay yesterday, USCIS had to ask this question: What do we do with all these new workers? Do we let them sit and pick their Pinocchio noses? Hmmm...maybe we should do something about that backlog over at Lee's Summit...Vous-a-la...Backlog Reduction Initiative...

How long will it last? Not sure but until there is no hope of court action allowing the Executive Action to move forward, USCIS will hold on to these employees and use them for lesser tasks such as our AOS's...

This is just SO true and very nicely explained! :)

Good morning. We received an RFE on May 8th and have an appt on June 24th to have the ridiculous medical thing redone ( we have 87 days from May 8th). We will post if any issues arise from the appt and will post when we are approved for the notorious GC, but until then and after, as nlhernan has stated, we also have become irrelevant to this thread.

Good bye and good luck to all.....

Thank you friends for all of your support as we have walked down this thorny immigration path together. I have taken great comfort in knowing that although the journey was long, it was not made alone. My only regret is that we haven't left something, a pinned post or sticky or whatever, explaining what we have learnt to new members. I may try to get it done at some point in the future but my work schedule is fairly exhausting at the moment.

I'm glad to have made some great friends here. Nlhernan, MovinOn & Shell20, I'm very glad to now be following you on Facebook.

Until ROC friends. Safe journey and fare thee well.

FINALLY!!!! After mailing my RFE last week, my status online changed to "welcome notice was

mailed" my GC will be delivered july 26!!!!!

WOOHOO!! You've certainly earned it!

Finally we heard something!! :dancing: We received a Potential Waiver letter in November 2014 and we just received notification that the card is in production and a decision has been made. WOOOHOOOO!!! It's the best birthday present ever (since my birthday is tomorrow). :D

I hope that more approvals keep coming!

That's awesome! That's the same time we got our letter too. Well, one of them: K2's. K1 never got his.

On December 9th, after reading this thread, Part 1 on and off since June 2014, we finally decided to post. ...

And have stuck around 2 months after approval to see most of my oldtimer friends get approval (san MovinOn). Most have moved on. I gotta tell you I'm worn out and I must move on myself. I remember that post, and remember it was a bit awkward for me at least, a newby to this thread. I'm glad you stuck around even after your approval. It's been good to still have the support and the knowledge of some "old timers" as you've liked to cal yourselves.

Good morning. We received an RFE on May 8th and have an appt on June 24th to have the ridiculous medical thing redone ( we have 87 days from May 8th). Lucky girl... getting paroled earlier than expected. (yup. Jealous!)

A pinned post is what we need, definitely, since everyone is suddenly bailing. :(

As expected, those who've been approved are bowing out. Makes perfect sense. I'm pretty sure I'll do the same when Johan is finally approved. I watched over the months all these long waiters insist that they'd stick around, but slowly but surely, we just don't hear from the formerly approved anymore. Again, that's expected. This is a fluid thread. Unfortunately, USCIS will ensure that it keeps gaining new members, and not losing the veterans quickly enough. I'm pretty sure I won't be "holding the fort" as was suggested a few pages back. But I'll surely report in and respond when it's warranted. Enjoy your "life is greener on the other side" months ahead of you. Perhaps we'll still see you post once in awhile. You've certainly earned the departure, and the break. :)(L)

I will let you into a little secret about my approval. Wasn't it you who was talking about The Secret?!? Well I decided to download pictures on to my computer that would make me happy, one of those pics was a copy of a GC. I kid you not but 5 mins later my husband emailed me and said he had received text messages from USCIS. I looked at my emails and lo and behold there was my approval! It blew me away! :)

NOA was July 21, 2014. Got my NPIW letter in mid-November. RFE for vaccination record arrived on May 18 (from Buffalo, NY office), which was responded to on May 19. Annoying for sure, but at least it gave me hope that someone was making some progress on my case. Needless to say, I was expecting it to be weeks before hearing anything further.

Obviously very relieved. Besides hearing that others had to redo medicals, we're moving to a new state in July, so I was mentally preparing for all sorts of issues. Barring some issue with the mail (knock on wood), they shouldn't be a concern.

Congrats to everyone in the same boat! For the others, hang in there. Things seem to be moving much faster.

Idk how far you are from van nuys but I received the letter requesting new medical on Tuesday and found a spot to get medical done again today fee of 125$ but maybe you wanna check it out or call em 1-818-782-4300

Its been almost 9 months now I havent got any update from USCIS. Tried the congressional help but I only received a bunch of ####### with the USCIS response. I think this administration is too focus on trying to process illegal immigrants by granting temporary status and aloowed them to work while let the QUALIFIED and LEGAL IMMIGRANTS suffer on all delays. Well, maybe because this administration is tying to project an image that they are working on immigration to capture votes.

I think it also about time to change the name of USCIS from Unites States Citizen and Immigration Services to USCID - United States Citizen and Immigration Delay....as they are very notorious on there actions and it looks like they have a thick face and proud of these delays.

That's so cool! :D Congrats!

I am so happy that you guys are getting approved. That means that USCIS is finally doing its job!

I agree with the theory that our cases have been delayed due to the Obama's executive order. Now that the executive order has been halted, our cases are moving. ABOUT TIME!!!!

Let's hope that Friday brings even more approvals.

Congrats to all the green card holders.
