[Hi Belga, my husband's medical is expired and we're just waiting on that cute lil RFE he's sure to receive. Sooo, I started researching and just googled "cheapest medical exam immigration dallas, texas" it brought up a clinic and their website stated $65, however I called and it was $85 for an adult. That still beats $400-$1000! So I'd advise you do the same and search in your area. I also made sure the attending doctor was listed on USCIS approved examiners. Hops this helps ☺️

Thanks for the response I wish i can find something as cheap as you mentioned unfortunately i live in an expensive area closed to Washington Dc , a city called Rockville , MD . I have checked the list of the Immigration Civil surgeon in the area I will try to call one by one hoping that i will get a good deal but i am still not sure of the $85 will cover all the medical expenses including the xrays blood test and the vaccines !!

morning ,congrats to all approvals. My RFE was received by USCIS on 15th,still no update ,no response review ,I hope they didn't lose my response as it was very hard to get it

do not panic, we are almost done! I've got request for new medical on May13, last week I sent it back. And my case status online is still "fingerprint fee accepted.."

Congratulations to everybody that has already a card in production! After more than a year from filing I did receive yesterday a letter requesting a new I 693 (this would be the third one) Have never received a letter of interview waiver, but, does the request for the new medical mean I will not have an interview? By the way, they didn't check the box that say: Mail your documents with this letter to: etc. etc.

Welcome to the medical exam club lol at least it means they touched your application , the good news is that someone here got the same waiver for medical exam he did it and submitted it and within 10 days he got the GC ..hopefully that means they will make a quick decision after they get the missing doc they requested

Finally we heard something!! We received a Potential Waiver letter in November 2014 and we just received notification that the card is in production and a decision has been made. WOOOHOOOO!!! It's the best birthday present ever (since my birthday is tomorrow).

I hope that more approvals keep coming!

Just received an email reply to my last service request. Thanks for that USCIS. While it's nice to know which office adjudicated my case, you really needn't of bothered.

CONGRATULATIONS...Finally is right...Your NOA was 4 days after ours and we were approved 2 months ago today...You deserve it, now go celebrate!!

My assessment is a continuation of what l surmised 2 weeks ago: I think a number of factors are in play here. 1). The NY Times wrote a very negative story about all this in Jan and quoted a spokesman that they knew they needed to hire more Officers to speed approvals, but hadn't for some unknown reason. 2). There had to be increasing pressure from Representatives and Senators ('cause we were breathing down their necks) and from the Ombusman when we barrages them. 3). And most importantly you have to justify paying for all those new hires to process the 5 million illegal aliens, oops I meant our less than legal guests, which will not happen anytime soon (if ever)...

So this "Backlog Reduction Initiative" is the apparent result. The mass of approvals in one week is more than happened in the entire month of January. Things ground to a halt back then. Why? Executive action changed the priorities at USCIS. As it has been written here, Family-based AOS, especially from K-1 already had the lowest of low priority. In the face of the injunction against the Executive Action and the failure to grant the stay yesterday, USCIS had to ask this question: What do we do with all these new workers? Do we let them sit and pick their Pinocchio noses? Hmmm...maybe we should do something about that backlog over at Lee's Summit...Vous-a-la...Backlog Reduction Initiative...

How long will it last? Not sure but until there is no hope of court action allowing the Executive Action to move forward, USCIS will hold on to these employees and use them for lesser tasks such as our AOS's...
