If it is causing financial hardship then yes, they do for college/uni and Im sure having no home is financial hardship. You need to ring them tomorrow and explain your situation to see if they can expedite. However, it will have an expiry date as any GC does.

I think your underwiter needs to understand that people can obtain credit without the need of none expired GC. I think that you also need to see what people are saying regarding about it on the net, there has to be a way around it, else no one would EVER buy a home when they emigrated until they acquire citizenship!

They are asking for a visa. I guess what I need to do is to prove my legal status in the states. I just received the email from my broker, so need to wait to see what the underwriter really wants tomorrow. Keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the info :) I know that we should be able to qualify. I'm just afraid of a non-immigration law experienced underwriter that may jeopardize the loan :(

Do you happen do know any official documentations I can approve to them? I cannot find any USCIS documents that explicitly state that AOS within 90 days of K1 entry means legal presence.

Wow your time line for K1 and the medical are nearly exactly the same as mine and my K1 also took 33 days..

Our timeline after are pretty close as well! We bought a new car yesterday and having him with me as a joint purchaser was difficult because he's in USCIS limbo, but with a little explanation everything went well. The hurdles are getting old.

I am relieved to report today that I received the E-mail notice that the resident card was approved today.

I hope enough data can be collected and be useful for current and future NPIW cases. This stage was indeed a stressful walk in the dark side of USCIS and how they (don't) report things.

Good luck to all, and also thanks for your continuous stream of information and updates.

AOS:
NOA notice: May 28, 2014

So I got a response from my SR as follows: Dont know if I believe it has left the NBC, doubt it, it seems a generic response so we won't bother them for a while! e status of this service request is:

On May 12, 2015, you or your representative contacted USCIS to inquire about your Form I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Your case was recently transferred to a USCIS Field Office as part of a backlog reduction initiative. Due to the volume of cases being processed, we are unable to provide individual responses at this time. We are working as quickly as possible to complete these cases. If you have a particular concern or emergency please make an appointment to go to your local office for an INFOPASS appointment:https://infopass.uscis.gov/.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

Shell

I still wonder whether this 'backlog reduction initiative" is what I suggested this weekend. I believe your file has been transferred and you will not be waiting the complete year. Look at the poster to day that got the RFE for immunizations. They are July filers and will get approved soon after submission. The trend is becoming the norm...older filers get bogged down in RFE's and July filers are being approved...

Yeah, not having a GC is more than an inconvenience...We couldn't get a joint car loan in Jan and had to pay cash to get joint title. The only official document you can shoot to them is your I-797 Notice of Action you got acknowledging acceptance of your application and explanation of your status...Give that a try...Good luck...

I kinda think that this is what's happening too. I'm still waiting for our response in the mail, but my fingers (and toes!) are crossed that ours has also left the NBC.

I hope they keep me in the trend :)

Me too! ;)

Hi, everyone,

I have never received a potential interview waiver letter. But today we got RFE from SF office saying they are processing our case for NBC. And if after REF, they still think we need an interview, they'll transfer our case back to NYC.

Our congresswoman office staff told us before that we got potential interview waiver (even we have never gotten the letter stating that).

So I guess we really got PIW.

However, I wonder if anyone got similar situation?

RFE asking for marital evidences such ask credit card statement, lease, tax refund...etc.

We don't have a lease because we got married after I signed the renewal. And it costs $300 for adding a new person on the lease. We decided to wait till the next year lease. But they sold out building, and we've never gotten the renewal lease. We like it without a lease, so we can move to a bigger place anytime when we are ready.

Do we submit photo album too? We put together a very nice photo album for the interview...but if we are sending it to SF office, I don't think we'll get it back :(

Please help! If anyone has similar or same situation, please help telling us what evidences you sent~ and what's the result? Still got interview or got the GC after RFE?

(So anxious...rather just go to the interview...)

Hi, everyone,

I have never received a potential interview waiver letter.

My husband also never received the NPIW letter. Our K2 got one back in November. It was only after our congresswoman inquired that we knew for sure that my husband's case was also NPIW. :(

Is this San Francisco? Looking at your timeline, I'd say your lawyer was misinformed back in February.
