Yes, we have been married over 2 years. AOS was filled back in Jan 2014.

That is why you have a 10 year GC, you get the provisional like an English driving licence to begin with, but after 2 years, which would normally be ROC, you get to receive your 10 year GC.. Because you have already been married for two years, you skipped that bit, because you have proved you have been married 2 years. So in the eyes of the USCIS the marriage is legitimate and not just for a visa.

Let's be completely honest here, it is rare, not completely unknown, but rare that a person would do this solely for residence from a place that isn't a third world country. Yeah, shoot me down at dawn for what I have just said, but when I first started my journey, I looked to see why the process was SO strict and apparently 50 percent of marriages (then, probably now) were/are fraudulent just to obtain the elusive GC!

I can't put myself into that position, but I can have EMPATHY for the people who through poverty and deprivation, dream of and try to obtain a better life! Very sad! :(

Yeah time for Movin on, Nlhernan, Esperado, Derwood, Plato... Many "Old timers, new timers.. Basically no one should wait more than 3 months, unacceptable!!!!

Absolutely not right. USCIS, you shouldn't not be allowed this power over "The American Dream"! I will personally lobby every singular power that I am aware off.

President Obama wanted to see families united, you are crushing that sentiment at every given opportunity with no remorse!

So I just got home from a 12 hour shift and checked to see if my case status was still on "We updated your name" and...

"Welcome Notice Was Mailed" !!!!!!!!

SO HAPPY! I guess they just sent out the wrong status update to begin with and then fixed it. Tomorrow would have been my 1 year anniversary for this whole AOS process, so they just sneaked in under the 1 year mark.

I hope this is the second approval this week of a long list, especially for you Nat&Mark, I think you've waited longer than anyone else here : (

CONGRATULATIONS!!! After the crazy message earlier, the low bidders finally got it right and pushed the green button. It may be Monday but it's time to celebrate...

We have matching NOA dates. My prediction is the 28th...don't do me wrong...

And while you at it USCIS, get off your keister and approve Nat&Mark tomorrow...

I am sitting here live from the Juarez, Mexico-El Paso Texas border where I have been waiting 1+ hours for my wife to be paroled back into the United States of America. My inside source (my wife) is texting me from inside the chaos that is the Customs Border Protection office to let me know there is no absolute movement because nobody inside has a clue of what they are doing. Has their system crashed again and will they make my wife return to Mexico to wait until tomorrow? Nobody knows.... Will I sleep alone tonight because my wife's case is not high enough priority for USCIS to have approved her Permanent Resident status months ago? Wouldn't be the first time this has happened. I guess we'll find out when the idiot CBP officer comes to tell me I have to leave my wife behind or take her back to Mexico because their shitty system is down. Stay tuned........

Is she through yet? I was stuck in LAX for 2.5 hrs waiting to be officially paroled - and I had a green card approved and waiting for me just miles from the airport. If they can't find my green card in the system, I hope they at least found her parole!

I've noticed some people on here that got a case update saying USPS had picked up their Green Card, I've still not got this yet, does everyone get this??

I don't know about everyone, but as you can see in my signature, it was more than a week from approval to actually being mailed. I don't know about texts (being out of the country I never received them), but I did get emails for every new change on the USCIS website. You were a week behind me, so hopefully by Friday :)

On a different note - did everyone get a driver's licence that expired with their EAD? I was sure I was supposed to renew it now that I have the GC, but since I have a five year licence (?), I wouldn't want them to shorten it to match my GC.

My driver's licence doesn't expire until 2018 - good for 3 years, and I have no idea why lol
