Still no changes for us. Knowing our luck, he'll get the medical RFE as it was done January 2013 in London. His EAD/AP doesn't expire until September. Any advise on when it would be best to apply for an extension? Thanks!

Wow your time line for K1 and the medical are nearly exactly the same as mine and my K1 also took 33 days..

Good morning everyone. I am back to about 18 pages of responses!! This group has got to be the most active on this entire forum. :)

I logged in to my account today via USCIS. It shows that my SR was assigned, answered, then mailed to us. Our last 3 letters of our request number are SFV, which is our local office. I thoroughly expect there to be a generic response of "things are taking longer... blah blah blah..." in the mail sometime in the next several days.

Congrats to those who've been approved since we were out of town. I bookmarked the post showing the stellar price for a new medical in Northridge (thank you to that poster!!), as we will likely need to redo K1 and K2's medicals before this nightmare is over.

Happy Monday. ;)

Hope you had a nice break! We sent an SR on May 1st, had an RFE mailed on May 8th and then they just responded to our SR on May 14th. I wonder what it is going to say, an RFE was mailed to you? Oh wait maybe they will say, "we are sorry, a RFE was sent to you in error, we will approve you I485 shortly" um, no I dont think so LOL!

How about we lost your file, we have messed it all up and we are willing to approve your GC and give you some compensation for all the stress we have put you through! Wouldnt it be great to get a letter saying sorry you don't need a medical as we made you wait and thats not your fault!!! Ah well, soon be a conclusion to this BIG mess and you can concentrate on a happy married life which you should have been able to do in the first place!

I think they are employing people to do overtime, play catch up perhaps? They need to play catch up, the system seems to be in a mess right now. Hopefully one day things might change one day and the process run smoothly.

I don't know why it says MSC other than there is where the SR's go too and I guess some office workers will put your local office as the last three digits and some will use the MSC. As for mailing, well sometimes they can take that long before they leave the MSC, so there is till chance it might turn up!

We are getting ready to mail ours, his EAD expires on Sept.15. Do we mail it to the same address we mailed the previous forms?

Also, the pictures did you send 4 pictures 2 for each form?

Yes to both questions! Remember that no filing fee is required. The July 2014 had quite a few posts in the last few weeks about EAD/AP renewals.

Good luck!

One of VJ members contacted me - we have been sent each other messages via inbox-. She said have checked the status of her husband application and the card is now mailed. He filed I think around March or April last year, his EAD is going to expire on July and he received NPIW as well on September 10, 2014. He did not have to redo his medical. He was a very few lucky applicants who got NPIW without have to redo the whole medical.

I guess its a lottery who gets an rfe for a medical, or they have lost the original medical. It all sucks whichever way I look at it all. I will be glad when we are all no longer waiting for a card and can move on with our lives. I had it confirmed this weekend that life is far too short to worry about things we just can't control! The USCIS will do what it wants regardless of how we feel, basically they don't give a damn about any us, it's just a job!
