Yup it is, I think it is a racket, a ploy for more money for some. The attorney sent an email to me because uscis sent him notification of the RFE. He seems think we will still get any interview after the medical because it was sent to our local field office. Wouldn't that just be peachy? Jezzz!

I have no idea, I have wondered that myself. Maybe because it seems that each field office have their own procedures?

probably :sleepy:

Just seen this whilst aimlessly googling. It's nothing we didn't know already but it's 'nice' to hear it from the horses mouth. The info is relatively up to date (November 2014):

http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Outreach/Questons_and_Responses_NBC_AILA_Meeting_2014_11_18_-_Final_4.pdf

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS AND RELATED APPLICATIONS

Question 11. For interview-waiver eligible adjustment of status cases, when the case is transferred to a service center for adjudication, a transfer notice is issued three to four months after the case was filed indicating that it may take an additional six months for adjudication. That means that it takes USCIS approximately nine to ten months to adjudicate interview-waiver cases. Is the NBC able to identify interview waiver eligible cases and transfer the files in a timelier manner to reduce processing times?

Response: NBC does identify potential Interview Waiver I-485 cases based on systems data. We flag the cases in our process and prepare them for adjudication in the field. At this time, NBC has limited capacity to prepare and ship Interview Waiver cases to the field for adjudication. Applicants and attorneys/representatives will continue to receive letters advising them of the delayed processing. We are working to increase our capacity and our goal is to get Interview Waiver I-485s to the same processing time as interview I- 485s but expect it will be some time. We do not have a timeline for this yet.

MovinOn,

It sucks that we have to do whole new medical. It costed me 250 bucks and 2 visits to doctor's office.

I also have EAD renewal pending from more than 2 months and have not heard anything on that and my current EAD is expiring on 27th May. I have raised an expedite request based on Severe financial loss and got a response that they want my Employer to give a letter that it would be a financial loss for me. Really??

Is it that hard to figure that if my current EAD is expiring on 27th and I would not be allowed to work legally then I would suffer from a severe financial loss, if I don't get a new one in time?

I did fax them the evidence for Financial loss but how do I know that it has reached to concerned person. I mean its USCIS so I want to double check that they got the required document in order to expedite it. Do we know how we can find out?

I guess you wont be able to change your ssn until the systems up date. Thanks for sharing, you're one of the VERY lucky ones, I honestly can say I have never heard anyone get a reply so quickly after sending in a service request. I have however heard of people submitting them and not even getting a response as if they didnt send one!

I got the same thing, I sent a request and it was updated in minutes. This was back in march, and they told me my case was still within normal processing regardless of the date the letter and the tier 1 said. But it must have gotten them moving a bit.

I got a call from the immigration specialist at the Senators office and she tried to argue with me that there had to be a reason my case was pulled out to redo the medical when others with the same non complicated case as mine was not required to redo. Then tried to tell me it had nothing o do with the processing of the illigals. Then tried to tell me I had requested to have my medical waived, which wasn't the case, I just asked them if they were going to pay for all the people who had to redo it because USCIS delayed everything

I finally told her that while I appreciated her call, that perhaps she should take a look at the Visajourney website and see all the people going through the same situation as me then call me back with that line, otherwise, I had to get back to work.

I was so frustrated.

But I am praying you all finally get your notices soon.

It does suck, others have had medicals that are older and have not gotten an RFE. It's stupid.

We will have to wait until mid to end of June to have this medical done. One place I called said that he would have to have all the vaccines done over again because they have to be within 30 days! What?? Absurd!! A tetnus lasts for 10 years!

Our EAD took 7 weeks and two days to be approved. It is usually around 2 months give or take to get approval on that. They sure don't make this easy for some, do they?

Others just zoom on through, I don't get it.

I'm not sure how you could find out if they did receive it, maybe a Tier 2 or an Infopass, sorry that's all i can think of.

If you guys are talking about a new medical, when I was making calls to find a place to have my vaccines transcribed, this doctor's office said they only do full medical, not just transcription and the cost of full medical is $135. Maybe it's worth giving them a call. It's in Northridge. (Info from November 2014)

Oh great, it means that as long as our cases are at NBC, we will be put on hold for infinite period of time, well, more accurately undefined period of time. lol.

Just got home to a text and an email saying "card was ordered to be produced"!!! So happy. Now to go about cancelling my EAD/AP biometrics appointment on Monday :P

I did log a service request yesterday and contacted the ombudsman at the beginning of April, no idea if either had any effect.
