Hi everybody, I got confused a little when I checked Nebraska Service Center for I-485, the processing time shows they are working on November 16,2014. Does that date mean people who got their NIPW on that date or sth. else???

The best information we have suggests that the 'Our Nebraska Service Center location is working on your case' is a complete load of BS, despite lots of peoples cases saying that on the online tracker. The NSC does not process I-485 family based applications. These applications are sent to the National Benefits Center for 'pre-processing' where important background checks are completed [the cases are piled up in a corner and collect dust]. About 10 ish months later they are sent [released on parole] to a local office for adjudication.

You may think your case will go to your local office ... think again, Buster. Your case could end up at any USCIS field office in the country depending on which office is quietest. You could be lucky in that it goes to an office that like to be pro-active and get these cases adjudicated quickly. On the other hand it may go to a local office who put it back into solitary confinement.

Once your case is released from the NBC prison it's fairly safe to assume that someone will pick it up within 60 ish days.

Will you know when your case has been transferred to a local office? Only if you get an RFE, which at the moment is quite likely as nearly everyone's medicals are expiring.

Strange as Derwood said go to the 1485 then sub section of Family Based. Type in the MSC number and the A number, but you don't type in the A if I remember. I am wondering if you are missing something out or the number is incorrect? Are you using the form/letter with the number 1-797c, that will have the correct MSC number on it for you.

Good morning all. Fingers are crossed for some more approvals today and tomorrow. We're taking a break from the daily grind and headed to Yosemite for the next few days. The immigrants (grin) haven't been there yet, so I'm excited for the trip! The current plan is to come home to tons of approvals. No pressure. Enjoy the rest of your week!

That date lets you send a service request depending on your NOA1 or received date. It is nothing to do with the letter and it does nothing more than for you to be able to do a service request really So say they received your paperwork on Sept 20th for example and they are working on Oct filers, you can then do a SR!

I got my NIPW on 29 Sept. 2014 and I thought maybe there is a relationship between them. I mean , uscis is still working on cases which got their NIPW on 16 Nov. So, I was wrong..... Still I haven't heard anything from USCIS. So disappointed.

No, you need to forget the NPIW letter that is just a means for the USCIS to stall cases. The local field offices put these processing times up about interviews, it isn't related to people with NPIW letters, but and this is a BIG but, it opens the doors to do a service request once your NOA1 passes this date and ask why they are taking SO long. I don't know you NOA1 date, so I don't know if you can do a service request or have already done one!

A new medical is just so offensive since it's the fault of the USCIS!! At least you do have confirmation that it's at SFV, although I may have been the only one to not trust that! lol Has anyone else actually had their file go to their local office? it seems extremely uncommon.

The only other one that I know of is Rebor, his was sent to SFV office also and that is his local office.

Yup, they want a new medical, they said that the other one has expired.Is very frustrating. We wont be able to afford that until next month now. So it is going to take longer. Im sick of it.

Cross fingers to have good news after all this bad news (I don't speak about me, I wait since april 2014 and I know I will received a RFE... one day ^^).

Feel sorry for MovinOn since he is waiting since 04/01/14 and need to wait again until June...

Thanks Mimikado. Did you write a letter to your Congressman? I feel like that is the thing at this point that made them look at our case. Also you can contact the Ombudsman and see what they can do. It is all very frustrating, I know.

Shell thanks for your great help. I applied my AOS on 18 Jun. 14 and my lawyer sent a request service center on last Friday. Still waiting for their respond. A question, I filled out my timeline, but how can I bring it under messages as others do it?

I have a timline that I filled out but I have never been able to attached it to my account. So what you are talking about is adding it to your signature. Go to your account at the top and click on settings and then click on signature and then add all of your information, save it. It will then show up under your comment everytime you post.
