I may be able to explain this, as I recently had a medical for work which gave me the same results.

You are testing positive for TB because of a vaccine called the "BCG Vaccine'. This works via exposing you to the TB virus and thus making you immune, but unfortunately, the common practice of TB testing done in the USA makes you test positive for the virus a lot of the time for simply having had the BCG vaccine. This test is used in the USA because BCG isn't routinely used and thus it's not generally an issue. I know the UK uses BCG, which is why I tested positive, and a quick google informs me 99.5% of China also uses it.

The nurse who did my medical had worked a lot overseas and explained this to me, and said the workaround was a quick blood test which came up as me being all healthy and TB-free. If you explain this to whoever did your medical, they'll most likely understand the situation.

BCG does not cross react with the gold test. A positive gold test is a real positive...this why my wife got this to avoid a chest x-ray. It is not a simple test and it cost $165 and many labs do not do it or even have the special tube required...

BTW...TB is caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis ... Cute little critters when you see 'em under a microscope...not good in the body...

All I was saying is from the average that we have seen here on this forum for the last 6 months is about a year. That is from letters from USCIS and Congressmen and Senators. Have you contacted the Ombusman, a Senator, Congressman and any other correspondence from a SR to USICS. Besides saying " a delay in processing"? Have they let you know which field office your case has been transferred to?

So right, Not having the actual GC can cause issues.

My case is still at NBC. That's what my local office had told me.

Got the RFE it is for a new medical and it came from the SFV office. Things have come up and we will have to wait until June to have the medical done. It gives us 87 days to complete from May 8th and return to them. I am very tired of this process.

A new medical is just so offensive since it's the fault of the USCIS!! At least you do have confirmation that it's at SFV, although I may have been the only one to not trust that! lol Has anyone else actually had their file go to their local office? it seems extremely uncommon.

Glad you made the medical appointment; though it still stinks that you have to do another med because of their incompetence...

Exactly! Especially when my local office was processing late Sep files as of 3/31/2015. I really doubt that they would approve my case without me calling them everything month.

Grrrrhhhh. USCIS ^&%*$%%$% Grrrrrhhh. Is it the full medical MovinOn, or just the vaccinations sheet?

Hi everybody, I got confused a little when I checked Nebraska Service Center for I-485, the processing time shows they are working on November 16,2014. Does that date mean people who got their NIPW on that date or sth. else???

Good morning all. Fingers are crossed for some more approvals today and tomorrow. We're taking a break from the daily grind and headed to Yosemite for the next few days. The immigrants (grin) haven't been there yet, so I'm excited for the trip! The current plan is to come home to tons of approvals. No pressure. Enjoy the rest of your week!

That date lets you send a service request depending on your NOA1 or received date. It is nothing to do with the letter and it does nothing more than for you to be able to do a service request really So say they received your paperwork on Sept 20th for example and they are working on Oct filers, you can then do a SR!
