I did hear the undocumented people were now able to get a license, but I didnt know all of the details about it. When we went to the DMV, my husband took the written and the driving and we used his EAD at proof of legal status and he received a license that is good for 4 years.

My husband did the exact same thing yours did, in the same state (for those who don't realize we're both in CA), and his expires in November. grrrrr

hmmmm, I don't understand why some have gotten the four year and some expire with the EAD. There does not seem to be much consistency with most of this process. Sometimes it makes it very hard for people to do everything correctly.

Yeah I have heard of some getting a license and it expires with the EAD and some have gotten one that is good for four years. My husband received the one that doesn't expire for 4 years.

Lucky one ;)

it's seems that the laws are so complex that even they don't know their rules :D

Maybe because he is from Canada?? They were having a hard time figuring out it he needed to take the behind the wheel because he has a Canadian license then decided that he did need to take that test, So I don't know. Strange.

The DMV I went to said that they have some sort of arrangement with Canada and that we don't need to take a test, accepted on the spot-- however, my license expires with my EAD.

Nope, I never had to take a test of any kind (driving nor written).

I never had to take a test either, but...they did issue me a license based on my visa, which expired the day I got it, then had to wait for EAD to come through and they would only issue a license till that expires.

I have USPS verification that my RFE response ahs been received in California so now I wait again. I had a panic attack trying to remember if I included one thing. I am sure I did, just one of those moments you know? COME ON GREEN CARD!!! :clock:

Our Congressman told us it is at our local office, I thought we were going to have an interview.

We received reply to our service request, the letter stated the file was in transit to the Washington District office, we thought it was in Nebraska. This is so confusing!?

Now it is going to a field office and you should hear something within the next 60 days!
