Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case [Part II]

Ah, I watched the movie. I felt that way too, .

Welcome to the thread it's that long its in two parts! If you read through both parts you will find out the real truth! Normally Tier 1's no matter how nice and knowledgeable they seem, don't know much about what is happening with your case. You can ask for a info pass to find out where your file is, but it seems that isn't always what it seems.

Some people after getting their letter have actually been called to interview only to find that their file was at another office and its been a complete waste of time.

Some people have contacted the ombudsman only to be told they have to wait 45 business days and that the ombudsman is overwhelmed right now with cases.

Some people have spoken to Tier 2 officers and had bad experiences. To put it bluntly the AOS right now, is in a mess. If you get the dreaded Potential Interview Waiver letter you can expect to wait up to a year or more, if you don't and get an interview you are one of the lucky ones who will sail through it!

Woot! Welcome notice mailed on May 4th. Card in production on May 3rd.

We just returned from a trip to Morocco and the Border Control Officer in the secondary inspection area told us that the green card was in the mail, so entering on AP after Green Card approval and prior to receipt is apparently a non-issue since they have access to all of that information. It was no problem.

Our NOA1 was June 26th and our NPIW letter was October 15th.

Hmm, I am still wondering though about this USCIS local offices thing.

I checked your local USCIS office which was Baltimore (?) and it says they are now processing July filers 2014. Isn't it a coincidence that you filed on June, approved on May, and they are processing now July filers 2014?

My question for all this thread subscribers:

If NPIW is irrelevant with USCIS local offices, why does it seem follow the pattern of processing times?

Sorry for my silly question. I hope you guys can provided an answer for me.

It is relevant in a way, ,you can do a service request once it passes your date and state its out of processing times. The USCIS figures that state who they are processing are really about the interviews, however they can't have it both ways, so once they hit your date you can involve the ombudsman too.

Trouble is that if you do a service request you will get the usual reply that they anticipate a delay and that it is currently taking 9 to 12 months to sort out AOS with interview waiver letters!

Our office is working on August filers. We filed in April and NPIW is July , the processing times do not have anything to do with the NPIW letter filers, we are special *rolling eyes*

Wow I bet that was HUGE surprise!! Congratulations! Enjoy!! Go celebrate this great news! :)

You are a late June filer, so they seem to be doing a lot of June filers lately however I don't understand why they are seemingly by passing March and April filers. We still have Jan 14 filer waiting, what a mess this system is in. Total and utter mess!

My best guess is that a batch of June files were sent to a slow local office. We didn't do any service requests or anything, so I have no idea which office processed ours.

And believe me, I understand the frustration of those that are still waiting. We started this journey in October of 2012 -- so while 10 months seems like too long to wait for the I-485 approval, I know that it could have been a lot worse! I'm thankful that we are done for a couple of years and I definitely wish speedy resolutions for all of you still waiting... especially Movinon and the others who filed before us and are still waiting.

News from the Ombudsmans office!

Apparently, my case has been sent from the NBC to a service centre in Flordia, but not sure what date that would have been on. According to them, they are "getting ready" to do something with it and I should hear something "soon".

If anyone here is familiar with the concept of Valve Time, USCIS appears to follow a very similar timescale.

AOS:

NOA: June 16th, 2014

NPIW: September 29th, 2014

Received Green Card: June 13th, 2015.

RoC:

California Service Center

Submitted: March 22nd, 2017

Completed: October 5th, 2018

N-400:

Submitted: December 11th, 2019

Biometrics: December 31st, 2019

Interview: April 22nd, 2020

Interview descheduled and now waiting for further updates...

When did you originally file with the Ombudsman?

Nope I have not even heard of Value Time.

We filed with them on March 16th and I called on April 28th and they said our case has not even been assigned to an agent yet, they are very busy and they are still working on Jan requests! I don't understand why we are getting the run-a-around! ugh!!

I hadn't heard of it either, but upon looking at it, I see that he's correct... USCIS DEFINITELY uses Valve time. If they tell you one date, expect it to be another, much further away date! hahaha An example:

Valve Time: October 1997 Actual time: September 1, 1998

Woot! Welcome notice mailed on May 4th. Card in production on May 3rd.

Congratulations!! This is great news! And also good to know that should our AOS be approved while abroad in July/August, it won't be a weird problem. :)

I think field office processing times are !!@@**. According to USCIS processing times, Manchester Field Office is processing September 5, 2014 dates, and our file is there. Since we are May filers, I would think ours would be priority, but that is not a reality.
