I received my appointment to have my fingerprints taken for the EAD renewal yesterday, appointment date the 12th of May. (Is that not unusually quick?!)

The timing is slightly unfortunate, though, as I start a new job tomorrow the 4th! I'd rather not turn round as ask for a day off in my second week (and rather not do a 2 hour drive each way), so I'm considering having the appointment rescheduled - in the hopes that my green card will come and I won't have to go - but I'd fear that it would delay my EAD past the August expiry, should my green card not come before then (would end up being 14 months processing...)

Anyone know if it would be wise to just simply reschedule the fingerprints appointment? Or should I bite the bullet and just make the trip?

Update on my husband's case... RFE was mailed.

My guess is we need a new medical. Ugh... not what I was hoping for when I saw an email from USCIS.

I just received an RFE for new medical plus proof of relationship and marriage certificate (both sent with AOS app), pretty annoyed right now considering I'm a January filer. And the other annoying thing is the letter was printed in jan with my old address printed on it even though I gave them plenty of notice I was moving. They just crossed out the date and address and corrected them and sent it to me now....

My main concern is if I delay the fingerprinting a month or so; will that delay the actual processing a month as well?

I'm fairly certain I'll get my green card before august so really, it's a moot point, but it's good to be sure.

And the other annoying thing is the letter was printed in jan with my old address printed on it even though I gave them plenty of notice I was moving. They just crossed out the date and address and corrected them and sent it to me now....

So the down and dirty, Readers' Digest condensed version is that through the idiocy of USCIS, they mailed an RFE to you in Jan to you prior address after you duly changed it. It then rattled around in the USPS, got sent back to USCIS where it rattled around until the IO came back from a 3 week coffee break and discovered that he or she sent it to the wrong address....They didn't even try to cover their "mistake" with a new letter...WOW...Now we know why you are the oldest old-timer...You've been screwed and got no kiss....this sucks...

The biggest problem with not having a GC earlier is that the 3 year clock for naturalization starts at approval, not filing. Some government jobs cannot be had without one. I couldn't get my wife as a co-borrower on a car loan without it. It's a downright inconvenience to be in limbo - particularly when it's not your fault...

Congratulations!! :D

Are you sure they want your children's birth certificates specifically? Or are they just asking you to provide proof of on-going relationship? The reason I ask is I received an RFE for a new medical, and proof of on-going relationship, and in the list of examples of supporting evidence on my RFE they listed children's birth certificate as an option (I don't have children). Point being, they might not need that piece of evidence specifically but were just giving an example of things you can provide as proof.

Yes, it specifically asked for children's birth certificates of children borne prior to this marriage. Mine didn't immigrate with me and his is 18 now. So I am not sure if they need my kids or his but I guess, if I can get them from my ex then we will send in all of them.

Honestly Didn't realize...

It's been 7 Months since my case was accepted.

So I thought that I'd check the website and see what they were processing now... August 26th 2014.

Is that legit? i've at least got another 3 months before they look at my case?

Is anyone here from august or even before?

Looking at your timeline you sent it Mid November so you're only at 5.5 months right now.

I sent mine in October and it's been 6.5 months for me. I'm expecting mine to be done by November 2015 :clock:

Congrats!!! Your NOA date is before me and I could only imagine the relief you are feeling...Did you guys file for EAD renewal? if yes, how much time it took for you to receive it?

Honestly, I think, I am the oldest member here unless someone is hiding and fed up with the process and decided not to post here..

Morning ,eveyone .I need some help here .I received the RFE letter this morning ,but I don't understand what the letter ask for .

It asked for the ''supplement FORM I-693 immunizations performed by a doctor on the list of USCIS authorized physicians ,which is listed on the USCIS web site.USCIS .GOV with this request for documents .Evidence of follow up medical examination regarding the positive class B Latent TB infection ,ie:x-rays ,medical statement from the examining Dr." Is this means just a new medical FORM I-693 done by a civil surgeon without any more vaccinations?

Then "For any and all convictions of the applicant within the UNITED STATES and abroad at any time ,the applicant MUST submit a certified copy of the following COURT records (a ) Disposition ©JUDGEMENT and SENTENCE .The applicant must also submit these court records for every alias under which he/she has been convicted. If no court records are found ,then submit a notice from the felony and misdemeanor divisions of each court ."

I don't know what this is at all. I submitted a no crime record when I filed for AOS last year .Should I just resubmit that no crime record again for them ? I have never been sentenced at court in my life .Is this one wanting my husband court record ? But the letter has my name on it .Any advice would be appreciated :crying:

If the RFE is for a new medical, can he go to his primary doctor and have him sign it or is he required to go to a civil surgeon?

I am fortunate that my primary does immigration medicals. Got an appointment for today thank goodness. Now to get birth certificates and we will have everything. That is gonna be the harder item to get as my ex is less than cooperative on even the easiest things.
