Green at last, green at last, thank god almighty, green card at last!!

Just got the e-mail notification this morning that her green card is finally approved and on it's way. Just a week shy of a FULL @#%&*!! YEAR after we filed but hey, who's counting? So happy to be one step closer towards never dealing with USCIS again.

To everyone still waiting, hang in there. I know how terrible it seems at times, but it's worth the wait.

Can I get a HALLELUJAH!! Great news! Congratulations!

Hi everyone,

I hope we are all doing well. I checked my USCIS CASE STATUS and it read " My new card is being produced...On April 25, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us.....". I made a service request on 6th April as 6months from recieiving the NPIW Letter passed. This process took 9 months from filing to get to this stage, I am looking forward to receiving the green card timely. How long does it take after this notice anyway?

All other VJ Community users waiting hang in there! There is a light at the end of the tunnel after all.:dancing::goofy: Congratulations to all other approvals.

Well it took a lot of faith to get to this point but now you can step to the other side of the fence where the grass (and card) is greener. Congratulations!

It's been a green letter day at USCIS. WOW!!

Welcome Notice Was Mailed

On April 22, 2015, we registered your permanent resident status and mailed you a Welcome Notice for Receipt Number MSC omitted. Please follow the instructions in the notice. Your new permanent resident card should arrive by June 21, 2015, after this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. The automatic email said if they can help, then they will let me know within 45 days. Ombudsman contacted USCIS about 40 days later and they said it could take up another 60 days to hear back from USCIS. Indeed, my case was approved about 40 days after Ombudsman contacted USCIS. So, it is 80 days from the day I submitted the request to Ombudsman to get approved.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver on July 1, 2014 date 6/27

Contacted Ombudsman on 01/12/2015.

Ombudsman contacted USCIS on 02/20/2015.

Ombudsman sent a follow up to USCIS on 03/18/2015.

I-485 approved on 03/31/2015 ( we ordered your card).

Welcome notice was mailed on 04/01/2015.

Received Welcome Notice on 04/08/2015.

This may be a silly question, but while we wait for our greencards after being chosen to be waived for interview (sigh), what is our current status? I applied for AOS last September, recieved NPIW December 30, and am now about to start work in a few weeks. One form asks me about my current status (Form I-9: Employment Eligibility Verfication) and I am not sure if I am a lawful permanent resident (or if that requires a greencard in hand) or just an alien authorized to work. Thanks!

You're in what's called a "period of authorized stay". Assuming you have an EAD, the correct box to check on the I-9 is "An alien authorized to work...". Use the expiry date of your EAD.

You're not a permanent resident until your AOS is approved.
