well since my husband is at work they won't talk to me! So I sent an email inquiry this morning. I am hoping they will look into it.

If they try to fob you off, stand your ground and ask them if they have assigned an officer to the case yet. I think they wont do anything until 30 days have past and the 45 days is probably when they have to get back to you regarding updates of your case!

I just contacted the ombudsman office because I haven't heard back from them the lady told me the case hadn't been assign to anyone that I had to wait 30 days from the day I sent the form

I told her today is 30 days since then n that my case has been pending for 1 year n 2 weeks now

She told she would work on my case right now since she had it in front of her

Let's see if that's true....

Here is the post about waiting 30 days.

I agree with this. When I filled out the request the other day, they emailed me back saying that it'd be up to 45 business days, which essentially puts it at mid-June before I can worry about not hearing from them.

Seems 45 business days for a response, but not for an officer to be assigned to your case.

OMG! We FINALLY received the GREAT news just a few minutes ago!

On April 22, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number, and will mail it to the address you gave us.

I can't believe it, he is finally going to receive is greencard after a year and almost two months from our original mailing date! His EAD, AP, and DL are all going to expire on May 7th and I was really worried! I had called the Senator's office today to check with them since I had contacted them over a month and a half ago for assistance. I also had just filled out the form with the Ombudsman a few hours ago to ask for assistance with USCIS as well.

We are so relived and happy! :dancing: :joy: :dancing:

Congratulations!! I'm sure you're doing the happy dance! :)

Just got email and text that the EAD Renewal card is in production...Thank Holy Mother of Jesus! Maybe that will trigger the GC!

This is the hope!! Good luck! :)

Seems 45 business days for a response, but not for an officer to be assigned to your case.

Very true. But it doesn't say it'll be resolved within 45 days. Just that I'll hear back within that time. 45 days for us is actually June 22. My question is, is the "inquiry" mine to the ombudsman, or theirs to USCIS?? Edit to add: as a sidenote, like you, shell, we were one day before out of processing times at our local office. I filed anyway. IDK if it'll make a difference, but this wait blows. I didn't want to add another 30ish days to allow for updated processing times that I know I'll be beyond.

Here's the email:

Hmm not sure how it works. I think the ombudsman is just another gov dept that has connections with the USCIS. I believe that they contact the USCIS about your case within the 45 business days and a shove in the right direction to get it sorted out.

Good morning Peeps,

Ever had de ja vu? I feel like I've done this before, a bit like Ground Hog Day where you wake up to the same old music. Well USCIS I am bored with the music, can you change the record please?

Thank you in eager anticipation.

So who is going to be the lucky recipient today, it has to be Movin On or one of the "Old Timers" right? USCIS seem to be slower this week but there is chance it will chance!

May the GC force and God be with you ALL today! :)

Good Morning! Pick me pick me, I want to be one of the lucky ones today! :)

They still have the fingerprints on file, I guess that is a good sign lol!

Good morning everyone!! Congratulations to the recent GC recipients, and recent approvals. I have to admit it's very aggravating to see people waiting such a ridiculous amount of time for their GC approval. MovinOn, I wish I knew what in the world is happening in your case because enough is enough, you need that approval immediately, like now! I have been having my daily GREEN in honor of all of you still waiting. I think about you guys every morning. I hope you all hear good news SOON!

Honestly, I think, I am the oldest member here unless someone is hiding and fed up with the process and decided not to post here..

Your dates are insane. I really hope there's some much-deserved movement on your case. 13.5 months is a bit much! (And if Murphy's law holds true, ours will also be this long.) Last night, my husband predicted December 3rd. LOL I said, "Man, I hope you didn't just jinx us!" I guess if you set your expectations super low, you're not as disappointed?

Morning, I also hope they hurry up! I sent a request to our Congressman, maybe that will help, then the Ombudsman with a follow up, other than that, I don't know what else to do. The president? lol... I just don't know any more. At least we are getting the EAD card to get us through for awhile.

It asks "Have you ever applied for employment authorization from USCIS before" We marked "yes" in the box, next question "Which USCIS office" Lee's Summit, Mo., next :date -we put the date that we originally filed (received) date from the original I797C receipt from the original I765 application.
