Good morning Peeps,

Well I am a tad solemn today as I am fed up of seeing people like MovinOn waiting! I see the same old names that have been waiting for over a year now and I am just shaking my head. Seriously? A WHOLE year for something that takes around 15 minutes to look at? Disgraceful!

Any way with that in mind I hope this shares the echo's of everyone who frequents this thread, may the GC force be with the "Old Timers"!!!!!! Good luck everyone! :)

Thank you Shell! It is a pretty awesome feeling after all that time, and as you say it is also so hard to have to wait so long for something that should just take a few minutes to approve, and all the uncertainty. Our card arrived just 9 days shy of a year since we sent in the package. We had submitted to ombudsman in March but never heard from them so we don't know if that did it or not. We imagine it did the trick but who knows. Sending good vibes to you and MovinOn.

Have you rang your field office, so you don't have to take time off work and such? I am actually wondering if they have actually lost your file as if I remember rightly they want a copy of everything you sent in, which is very bizarre when they have it right in front of them!

I can not find a phone number for the Atlanta Field office that is the problem

Just looked for you and as you say no phone number. Why don't you ring up USCIS and ask them to get in touch with the field office concerned to call you back. You need to know if they have your file or not as you shouldn't have to take time off if they don't have your file it's a financial loss and I doubt appreciated with your employer/s!

Alternately ring up and say you want to make a complaint, which should alert them to a Tier 2 getting involved. Tell them you are not prepared to book time of work until they tell you that your file is indeed at Atlanta and tell them you shouldn't be having to worry about this in the first place! Just shaking my head

Yep :( was hoping I wouldn't have to renew but I don't want to risk waiting and then ending up without a work permit! I'm currently applying for teaching jobs starting in September, my current EAD expires in August so I'm hoping potential employees won't see that and think I won't be able to work! It's hard enough explaining what an EAD is (employers all seem to want to see a Green Card) let alone explaining the renewal process. Ugh.

Don't want to put a dampener on this but I would check on whether or not you need a GC for a teaching job. Seems most government jobs either want a GC or for you to have citizenship! :(

Good luck on the teaching job search! IDK if Massachusetts uses it, but try edjoin.org. It's a fabulous tool for finding a school job. What grade? I'm 10th.

Thank you! I will look into that site, thanks for the tip! I taught secondary school (11-18) in the UK so could technically do middle or high school, though I'm leaning towards middle school as I prefer the curriculum. Currently working as a TA in a high school though, so you never know!

OMG! We FINALLY received the GREAT news just a few minutes ago!

On April 22, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number, and will mail it to the address you gave us.

I can't believe it, he is finally going to receive is greencard after a year and almost two months from our original mailing date! His EAD, AP, and DL are all going to expire on May 7th and I was really worried! I had called the Senator's office today to check with them since I had contacted them over a month and a half ago for assistance. I also had just filled out the form with the Ombudsman a few hours ago to ask for assistance with USCIS as well.

We are so relived and happy! :dancing: :joy: :dancing:
