I just contacted the ombudsman office because I haven't heard back from them the lady told me the case hadn't been assign to anyone that I had to wait 30 days from the day I sent the form

I told her today is 30 days since then n that my case has been pending for 1 year n 2 weeks now

She told she would work on my case right now since she had it in front of her

Let's see if that's true....

Very interesting, perhaps Movin On can do the same as I am sure that you probably filed around the same time. Thanks for sharing with the thread and I look forward to seeing the outcome, hoping for the best and only result we all want, issuance of that elusive GC! :)

Wonder what that meant?

How long does it take to approve a case? I find this so strange as we go through the K1 visa process for the most part and what other than wedding photos and such can they look at given the limited time we have to file AOS? I guess the USCIS must think that it's an intricate process, if so then they should just give us all an interview within the first 3 months and then we can be done with this wait!

Our Congressman for this district is working on our case right now. I faxed the release form and documents to them on Friday. So I will see what they can do first and then I will work on Ombudsman. This is ridiculous! We should not have to do all of these type of things.

It is OUR lives and they should be honest and tell EACH of us exactly what is going on with our cases, It should be not secret. If they are transferred, tell us. etc!

You're right it's your case and you should be privy to know what is going on. In the UK they have such thing as the Data Protection and if you request information then that has to be released, down to what they write about you on their computer systems!

Now the race is on, which horse, figuratively speaking, will get to the finish line first? Ombudsman or Congress? This is quite exciting to see.... sorry that you have had to endure this though, it shouldn't be this bloody hard to get a case approved!!!

Here in the USA we also have a Freedom Of Information Act:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_Information_Act_%28United_States%29

Its not like I have asked about anyone's information except for ours. I am not trying to be sneeky or anything I just want to know the truth about OUR case. I just don't understand any of this. I really really don't. Maybe I am missing something.

I don't understand it either, I really really don't. Maybe I should speak to a really good lawyer (oxymoron lol), but seriously I just want to understand the mystery in all of this.

I received the Welcome to America letter today. Mine came from Lee Summit, it that where they all come from.

The week before my approval, I called USCIS and they told me my case was still in the Lee "prison"Summit. I wonder if my case ever left from there? Is there a way to find out? Not that I am that curious anyway...I've been approved, just waiting for them to mail my card. Maybe because they are so backed up, they can approve them at NBC...

Interesting, I would like to know about that myself. Wonder if everyone receives the Welcome letter from Lee's Summit? I don't believe anyone has mentioned that. The focus shifts when you receive approval.

I didnt know that happened to you, where you called and they told you it was still at Lee's Summit and a week later it is approved. We have found out that they do go to some field office somewhere but most don't seem to find out which one. Was it a Tier 1 or Tier 2 that told you it was still Lee's Summit?

Bewitching hour...have a good evening everyone.
