Well normally 1 week to 2 weeks, although Nlhernan has waited an incredibly long time for his GC. I guess it's how long is a piece of string with the USCIS really! Although normally it should be with you sooner rather than later!

All,

I know of many that have applied in March, and early April 2014, but have seen 0 progress on their case.

Contacting your local Senator, contacting OMBUDSMAN, putting in SRs online, calling the USCIS every other day and requesting to speak with Tier 2 all make a difference to bring attention to your case. It is a pain, but it is an investment!

Just to give you an example, last year a friend and I applied for our EAD/AP AOS at the same time at the same service center. I contacted my local Senator at only 45 days after submitting my application, and I received my EAD/AP card close to 3 weeks before my friend receiving theirs. They had not contacted the Senator. Ofcourse 3 weeks is not a big deal to some, but it was to me because while waiting on an approval, I was on a 'pending' legal status, and could not get my driver's license renewed, had to give up working because my old work authorization expired, and I was in a 'pending status' while waiting on my EAD/AP from AOS. Thankfully my company was understanding enough and waited for 2+ months to re-hire me back with the EAD/AP in hand.

I know most of you have done all of the above and even more, but this message is for others that might be following this thread and are not sure of what they can do.

April 14, 2014: I-485 AOS (Employment Based) Filed at TSC

April 14, 2014: I-765 Filed at TSC

April 14, 2014: I-131 Filed at TSC

April 24, 2014: NOA Date for all applications

May 7, 2014: Early Biometrics completed. Original appointment was for May 20, 2014

May 9, 2014: Contacted local Senator about EAD + I-131 progress as my 1 year OPT (from grad school) expired in the first week of May, and I had to stop working + driving.

June 24, 2014: EAD + AP approved

Feb 22, 2015: Contacted USCIS about I-485 processing taking longer than current processing times

March 13, 2015: Filed EAD + AP renewal

March 16, 2015: contacted OMBUDSMAN about I-485 being outside processing times. Was told to receive a response back in 45 days.

March 17, 2015: NOA Date for I-765 + I-131

March 23, 2015: Contacted local Senator about pending I-485

March 23, 2015: Called USCIS Tier 1 + Tier 2 as my SR from Feb 22 was not responded to. Was informed that my case was looked at on Feb 20, but not assigned to an officer.

March 24, 2014: Submitted 2nd SR online

April 3: Second call to Tier 1 + Tier 2. Was informed that my case was pre-adjudicated and under additional review.

April 8, 2015: Received response to second SR from March 24, saying a decision will be made within 60 days.

April 10, 2015: Card Ordered notification!!!

Hey everyone, I have a quick question. We mailed our response to the RFE last week and it was received by USCIS on Thursday, April 9th. Does anyone know how long it takes for the status to change online to response received or response under review? Until now, it still states that they mailed us an RFE and our case is suspending waiting for our response.

Also, any estimates for how long it may take for his case to be approved and receive the welcome letter?

Thanks!

I have seen it take 1 week to 30 days to get an approval after RFE are received.

As of right now USCIS is saying that it takes approx. 12 months to have a decision on your case from the filing/received date. But I can see from your timeline that your case is well over a year. But with the RFE you just submitted it will not be very long now.

You've got a long wait for my approval, at this rate around 4 months or more!! At least I know what to expect, I think you and I will be the first one's to say its the not knowing, the mis/disinformation that makes this a particular difficult journey! At least we have the summer, just got my shorts out and prayed that a winter of temptation would still let me fit into them and just about! :)

Have done my biometrics for renewal EAD today, though it was scheduled for next Monday! My husband works on this Monday. We have one car, so he doesn't want to waste his vacation days on it.. and we decided to try a walk-in. They gave us a hard time, ask to come back in an hour and a half.. But eventually they accepted us! It took 4 minutes.
