I have had 8 months of it and another 4 months to go. I understand totally how you feel, if I was in your position I would be bald by now, by just tearing my hair out. Totally disgusting what they are doing and unjust. It's like they are on a power trip!

Yeah, its just about to much to handle to be honest, I dont know what is going to happen.

Hi shell20, I was just wondering how you found out that your projected GC date is July 13 2015? Is that an estimate on your end or something official? Thanks!

Its just a prediction game we play, see who is the most psychic and gets the nearest date. Nlhernan was a day out, Movin On is about a month out now! :( Esperdo12, changed theirs as they realised they were past their date and that worked as they then got their GC. So we just do it for some fun, as we are waiting.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

Your K1 visa interview was around the same date as was your POE too! I put down my date as its my friends birthday and they will probably visit then and I know when I am busy and can't be bothered with it, it will probably happen as that is Murphy's law!!

I would like to say it's sooner but right now its seems that USCIS are hovering around 11 months to 13 months! Sometimes there are the occasional filers that wait only a few months, but these are an exception to the rule. I still don't know how they get out of the dungeons of the NBC and make their way to an approval, I guess that is a mystery, shrouded in an enigma wrapped in a puzzle! :)

Good morning everyone! Happy Tax day. ;)

In response to all the disheartened posts and feelings lately, I want to send out some positive vibes to everyone. :star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star:

We're still months away from expecting an approval, but I remember all too well being severely frustrated with feelings of impatience and unfairness that comes from this process. In our case, things moved pretty fast, but even though we were at the CSC for our K1, there were people who filed long after us who were approved long before us. It drove me nuts because I just wanted my man here! Comparatively, those at the TSC pretty much hated us CSC filers, and were severely jealous of the process (can't blame them!). Last year in the K1 forum, there was a lot of animosity toward people who complained about CSC being slow with their approvals or people who applied and had their NOA2 in a matter of weeks. It was a much different atmosphere in the TSC threads than the CSC threads. It sucked, but there is literally nothing to be done about it. Now, I am a poster in 3 different threads: Feb. 2014 K1 filers, August 2014 AOS filers, and this one. It is a horrible feeling to see people who filed AOS after us get their interview and green cards. Even Johan's EAD was beyond processing times (97 days to approval), and we waited very impatiently, called the USCIS, our congressperson, etc. It didn't speed up the process one bit. And of course, the dreaded NPIW letter delivered to us in November. This waiting game is one of severe mental and emotional hardship, and no one can be blamed for feeling frustrated, jealous, or bitter toward those who receive their Green Card long before we do. I'm currently treating this as a mind-over-matter situation.

Reading Shell's response to my earlier post about her volunteering, I realize just how different our journeys all are. In our case, Johan was living in a country (Ireland) where he has no family. He brought his 10 year old son with him, so there's no one to miss. He left South Africa more than 15 years ago, and so already has experience with immigration and frustrating wait times (It took 9 years from work visa to Irish citizenship for him; we're hoping it'll be half that for the USA). When he first moved here, the first thing we did was get married, order his SSN, apply for AOS. He drove on his Irish license and had a job lined up before the EAD was approved. I already owned 2 cars (my 10 year old Saturn and my new car, I'd bought a few months before), so being stuck at home wasn't an issue for him. Life for us has been business as usual, and we really don't worry about his green card approval, apart from it'd be nice to have the countdown to citizenship begin ASAP. But really, for us, the Green Card won't change too much. It'll alleviate some inconveniences, and that's all. While I'm not naive enough, or heartless enough to think everyone has as casual an attitude as I do about receiving the green card (and also having their own needs to just get the damned thing), I think of the hundreds of thousands of people going through this process (I honestly think VJ represents less than 1% of applicants for any type of visa), and I think, "no wonder it's taking so long." I can't imagine the actual pile of these files. I sincerely think that if we all experienced the same timeline and were given honest answers, we wouldn't experience nearly the level of frustration that we feel. In a perfect world, the NPIW letter option would disappear, and we'd be, ALL OF US, interviewed in order received at our local offices. Maybe then the timeline would be more like 18 months, but if it was fair, it would be much more tolerable. I don't know. These are just ramblings, and maybe in September, when I'm a month past our 1-year anniversary, I may feel differently, but for now, I'm here to cheer, cry, scream, and congratulate everyone who's been waiting forever and a day (although some of you have been lucky enough to just have to wait forever. ). Have a good hump day, and be super thankful if you don't owe taxes this year, and kiss your spouse, who maybe wasn't even here a year+ ago. I know I will. (((((hugs)))))

I just got woken from a delightful nap by an even more delightful text message from USCIS.

AOS APPROVED!

Hi all. Long time lurker on this thread. Just chiming in to say we got our approval on Saturday 4/11. Our NOA1 was last April 29th and NPIW letter was dated 7/29, so just shy of a yr from NOA1 date. Hope this will be encouraging to those still waiting. Thanks all for waiting this out together :)

Great News for us today! GC in production! (almost a year later...) Suddenly in the middle of the day, husband gets text Your case MSCxxx has been updated! Then status online read: On April 14, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Ironic since biometrics for renewal EAD/AP was tomorrow...This is such a huge relief and gives hope for anyone else waiting...there have been a lot of approvals suddenly. Lets keep this trend going!

GOOOD MORNING!!!

Yes, I wrote with green because I woke up with a green text message: at 8:01 am EST I received a text about AOS: new card is being produced - April 14th.

1 week short to 1 year AOS anniversary.

Just received my first ever honorary RFE-- not necessarily what I was hoping to see, but at least there's movement on my case. I was half-expecting this since my medical/vaccination record is now expired.

"The following evidence is required to establish your eligibility.

1. Your Form I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record has expired. Please have an authorized civil surgeon complete Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record with a revision date of 10/11/2011 or later. Form I-693 must be submitted in a sealed envelope. Civil Surgeon MUST complete BOTH the medical examination and vaccination portions of the form, even if you have entered with the K-1 non-immigrant visa.

2. Evidence of marital union such as tax returns, bank accounts, credit card statements, leases, mortgages, insurance policy statement, birth certificate of children, photos after marriage, etc."

Lovely. I'm assuming this means I need to take the entire medical again?

Seriously? Are they paying for the medical? Normally they only ask for an update vaccination record but I guess they are just on another power trip. Sorry that this has happened to you. Shaking my head yet again, its not as if they are consistent across the board! I guess it means you're near the end of the AOS journey though! Well Peeps, going to bed now.

Today has been quite dreadful, I have found myself so tearful, the pressure of everything is now really getting to me.

Since my husband came home tonight I haven't stopped crying. I couldn't even tell you why, probably the whole damn visa pressure, the pressure of trying to find work in a town that really doesn't have jobs, the homesickness, the weather, the longing of seeing my only child again. I just think the WHOLE damn process has been an awful experience!

I feel quite lost, and lonely especially when my husband is at work. I have recently found myself just withdrawing from everything! I guess it's has all just caught up with me finally! I don't even feel I have the energy or desire to fight the process!

Well done USCIS, if you want to make the people who left their home countries, family, friends, pets and everything they knew sadder then you have succeeded 40 - Love. :(

Give yourselves a big pat on the back!!

I guess tomorrow is another day!

I know this is hard. I know being away from family is awful, and on top of that that feeling of uncertainty makes it worse. I wife also used to cry all the time, and she also secluded herself from everything. I did the same thing when I lived in Mexico with her. I really hope things get better for you.

It's like you're having to do the work for the interview without the actual interview. Bogus.

Seriously? Are they paying for the medical? Normally they only ask for an update vaccination record but I guess they are just on another power trip. Sorry that this has happened to you. Shaking my head yet again, its not as if they are consistent across the board! I guess it means you're near the end of the AOS journey though! That's the only positive thing I can see about the whole thing right now!

This is what I'm saying! Consistency across the board would make a world of difference in the frustrations of those of us waiting. Shame on them for even sending out RFE's that are the result of their ridiculous wait times. Grrrrr. :ranting:
